Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. Women referred into the program are able to take part in the following programs: Suiting: A personal shopper assists each woman with a complete outfit for her job interview. When available, we also provide accessories such as shoes, jewelry, a hand bag and makeup. Our goal is for her to leave Dress for Success with a complete outfit that will help her feel confident in her interview and land a job. Once she gets a job, we invite her to return to receive additional apparel to mix and match for up to a week's worth of clothing. RISE!: This job readiness training program for women meets once a week on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 to noon. Classes will address and aid in eliminating the frustrating obstacles that may arise during a search for employment. Four eight week cohorts are held during the year.

(Workforce Development) Our training programs are designed to provide job training and career development that is relevant and in-demand, allowing participants to gain new skills, earn industry standard certifications, and access to higher paying jobs.

Lift HI Foundation offers tailored training-to-good job pathways, in partnership with local employers like Hawaii Pacific Health, that make it easy for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) households to participate. We proactively recruit applicants within communities, geographic or otherwise, with high levels of ALICE households. Our training timetable is a free, full-time training program. Two-fifths of our training focuses on skills such as goal-setting, culture, communication, and managing conflict among others. We currently provide “income replacement” (equivalent to the minimum wage). We partner with employers who are engaged actively throughout training who help with all or part of technical/clinical training, opportunities to visit and shadow in a clinical setting, pre-graduation job interviews, and preferred job consideration. We also contract former graduates to assist our graduates in navigating their new jobs and life.

(Touch a Heart) We transform the lives of those facing barriers to employment by providing vocational training in a healing and nurturing environment, creating pathways to job placement. We partner with other nonprofit organizations that have underutilized commercial kitchens to create a food services training and apprenticeship program. These kitchens serve as our vocational training work sites and is also where we operate our social enterprises. (Hispanic Link, MEO) Enlace Hispano translates to "Hispanic Link" in English. Provides cultural integration, translation, referrals, outreach, community events, substance abuse education and workforce development to the Hispanic community.

Assesses the vocational potential of disabled persons through work samples, situational observation, diagnostic interviews and psychometric tests. Provides information and recommendations for vocational counseling and rehabilitation plans. Conducts physical capacity evaluation, case work and counseling, psychosocial assessment, occupational skills assessment and work experience.

The Employment Readiness Program offers information and referral services as well as assistance in the areas of employment, and training. Services include hiring events, career counseling and goal setting, employment and education information, classes on resume writing (federal and private sector), interviewing, building a LinkedIn profile, and conducting a job search.

Two main programs make up the foundation of Abilities Unlimited - the Medicaid Waiver Program and the Employment Program: -Medicaid Waiver Program serves individuals with disabilities referred by the State of Hawaii Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Division, offering personal assistance/habilitation services, adult day health services, and employment services for medicaid waiver clients. -Employment Program serves clients referred by the State of Hawaii Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), assisting individuals with disabilities and other barriers to gain and maintain employment. The Office of Continuing Education & Workforce Development (OCEWD) is the non-credit division of Leeward Community College offering an extensive suite of services to the community. OCEWD provides a variety of community education programs, employment training courses and cultural enrichment. Our programs support human resources and economic development, training courses for job seekers, businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. Computer software training, Education and career planning, Nurse Aide Training, Patient Care Technician, Adult Residential Care Home (ARCH), Health Information Technology, Food Safety & Sanitation - ServSafe®, Process Technology Program, Mechatronics, Commercial Motor Vehicle Series, Forklift Training, Basic Training in Landscape Maintenance and Installation.

(H2H, Hele2Work, Hele to Work) The staff of the Hele2Work Employment Program at the Institute for Human Services (IHS) provide job readiness and post employment follow up services, as well as job search assistance along with referrals to job training classes and vocational training programs when available for those who qualify to participate in them. All Hele2Work services are free to those in need who are homeless, or who are at-risk of becoming homeless if employment is not secured quickly.

Promotes, develops and maintains apprenticeship and other work-based training programs. Educates and informs women about non-traditional employment opportunities and work-based training.

(Hilo Employment Services, ESLPR, ESLIP, ESRI) Employment services for people with barriers to employment: persons with low-income, immigrants, or individuals who were previously incarcerated. Services include assessment, job readiness training, job placement and retention, vocational training referral and assistance.

The Building Industry Association of Hawaii (BIA Hawaii) provides year-round education and workforce training through its Construction Training Center of the Pacific. Our programs are designed to meet the evolving needs of Hawaii’s construction industry, offering practical, certification-based training for both new entrants and experienced professionals. Current offerings include: OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 construction safety training; CPR, First Aid, and AED (in-person and hybrid options); Forklift, Aerial Lift, and Equipment Operation; Supervisor Leadership Training; Specialized safety courses including Fall Protection, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Silica Awareness, and more; NAHB courses in estimating, scheduling, marketing, business management, and risk mitigation; USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management training. Courses are taught by certified instructors with direct jobsite experience. This ensures that training is grounded in real-world applications and meets industry standards. Certifications earned through BIA programs help workers maintain compliance, improve safety, and enhance job readiness.

(SNAP Outreach, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Outreach) Lanakila Pacific is a Hawaii-based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization offering assistance programs and operating social enterprises to build independence and improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive, physical, social or age-related challenges. Since 1939, its vision has been to embody self-sufficiency and inspire inclusive communities where people of all ages and abilities are empowered to live independently, find meaningful employment and thrive in spirit. The organization collectively serves and benefits more than 2,000 people each year including individuals with disabilities and seniors in our community.

(The Maui Farm) The Family Strengthening Program is a farm-based residential program providing transitional housing and life skills training for families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to domestic violence and economic issues. With a focus on the whole family, the program provides opportunities for daily learning and application of healthy life skills and effective parenting strategies in a safe home environment, and strengthens families to remain intact and healthy. Working in collaboration with partner agencies including Women Helping Women and other homeless services provider agencies, The Maui Farm’s services strengthen the continuum of care for struggling families. We provide a housing and family strengthening component after emergency shelter services have been maximized, and before families move on to long-term affordable housing in the community. The average duration of program participation is six to eighteen months. Shared housing is provided on-site at The Maui Farm, with monthly rental fees determined in compliance with federal HOME Program regulations.

Re-use Hawaii provides a Workforce Development Program that expands equitable access to jobs through second chance and transitional employment. We intentionally employ individuals who have been excluded from the workforce due to previous justice involvement, recovery from substance abuse, housing instability, or other barriers to employment.

Provides free and confidential individual tutorial services by volunteers. Offers tutoring in basic skills such as reading, writing and math. Assists client in preparing for various testing including GED. Helps with resume preparation.

(Mentorship Program) Our flagship program provides internships, college apprenticeships, and alternative learning opportunities for youth ages 12 years old - 25 years old facing challenging life circumstances. Immersed in all aspects of cultivating kalo, participants deepen their understanding of Hawaiian culture and environmental stewardship while growing in healthy self-concept and life skills.

Pacific Whale Foundation's mission is to protect our oceans through science and advocacy. Conducts scientific research of ocean, coral reefs and marine mammals. Applies research findings to preserve natural marine habitats and animals. Provides public education, encourages community participation through lectures, school visits, natural history cruises, snorkeling trips and whale watching cruises. Offers internships for interested researchers who apply. Manages Adopt-a-Whale and Adopt-a-Spinner Dolphin program allowing interested citizens to receive information on the movements and developments of a specific whale. Operates Pacific Whale Foundation's Eco-Adventure, a for-profit subsidiary.
