(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. The purpose of the COVID-19 Emergency Response Volunteer at Hawaii State Hospital is to help the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital staff in its efforts to reduce spread of COVID-19 at the Hospital and in the community we serve. The volunteer will also help with efforts to inform staff, patients, family members of patients, and others in the Hospital's service community on how they can help reduce risk of spreading or contracting COVID-19. Volunteers will help by using, modeling, informing and educating staff and others at the Hospital in safe physical distancing ("social distancing" six feet or more), using electronic communications and internet-based group communications apps to hold meetings, practicing hand hygiene, and special infection control measures to prevent transmission of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Volunteer roles may include, as needed:

• Assist Hospital Administration sort, convey and communicate incoming CDC, DOH and other COVID-19 information
• Assist with written communication

(ABC) Attachment Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC) Program - an evidenced-based intervention for caregivers of infants and toddlers who have experienced early adversity. The ABC Parent-Child Attachment Specialist, known more informally as the ABC Parent Coach, is able to provide intervention for infants between 6 and 24 months of age and toddlers between 24 and 48 months. The Hawaii Interim Housing Program (HIHP) has closed applications for the housing program. For those persons needing post disaster housing assistance, please contact your Disaster Case Manager (DCM) or Outreach Care Navigator (OCN) with the Disaster Case Management Program (DCMP). Ka Lai Ola is a temporary housing development that is located in West Lahaina within walking distance of Lahaina Civic Center. It will house 1,500 wildfire survivors until 2029. Ka Lai Ola will contain approximately 450 modular residential units, including a combination of studio, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom homes for independent living with full kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.

(LMPC) The Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center (LMPC) provides social, recreational, educational, cultural and health activities with the overall goal of helping seniors remain independent and preventing premature institutionalization. Classes in Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Cribbage and other board games, Dance (Chinese, Hula, Korean, Yui Buyo) , Digital Technology, Gardening, Guitar, Hanafuda, Japanese Calligraphy, Line Dancing, Mah Jong, Pickleball, Ping Pong, Language Classes (ASL, Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish), Sewing, Stretch and Tone, Tai Chi, Taisho Koto, Yoga, and many more classes. A variety of cultural clubs meet weekly. Opportunities for community service, obtaining new skills, health improvement, continuing education for seniors and access to other services.

(Homelessness Prevention) This program serves families with children at risk of homelessness. If eligible, families can typically receive up to 3 months of rent (past due rent or future rent), utility assistance, or rental deposit.

Conducts professional development training and provides ongoing technical assistance to increase capacity and sustainability of youth-serving organizations. Creates, coordinates and sustains multi-agency partnerships and collaborations. Facilitates the Hawaii Interagency State Youth Network of Care (HISYNC). Conducts needs assessment, planning, and public policy development. Current focus areas include youth homelessness, foster care, teen pregnancy and STI prevention, sexual abuse prevention. Ensures a youth voice in public policy through an annual Hawaii Children and Youth Summit.

(VLA) The VLA project focuses on disabled and elderly veterans and family members who are residents of the state of Hawaii and who want assistance with filing benefits claims with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Also offers referrals to volunteer attorneys through VLSH's pro bono program for legal advice and direct services for: Family Law, Tenant Rights, Collections and Bankruptcy, Estate Planning/Probate, Re-Employment and Community Service Program (Oahu only).

Investigates complaints from dissatisfied consumers and advises those who have landlord and/or tenant problems. Will investigate complaints in the following areas: advertising, art galleries, car rentals, charitable solicitations, collection practices, credit sales, door-to-door sales, health clubs, interest and usury, investment schemes, Made-in-Hawaii goods, refunds and exchanges, unaccredited degree granting institutions, unfair or deceptive trade practices, unsolicited goods, or undisclosed charges.
