At Aloha United Way, we know the power of in-kind contributions. These contributions help other nonprofit organizations thrive by expanding their resources, saving them money by reducing overhead costs and helping to increase their efficiency. Our Gifts-In-Kind program connects people with organizations needing specific items through an online "gift-matching" service. Nonprofit organization can post the items or services they are looking for and potential donors can search for an organization seeking their donation.

(Hale O Ulu) Youth ages 6 years old - 23 years old who are a part of or are eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) are offered individual learning plans that help them to recapture school credits, and assist them in understanding their learning styles and challenges. Students and their families are offered counseling and other social services. This helps the student to address more than just their educational issues and have the support to be successful as they continue their education. Provides alternative secondary school for high risk or alienated youths, grades 7th to 12th, who have difficulty adjusting in a traditional school. Academic and clinical counseling are integrated. Goal is to return students to regular school.

HAF partners with various community organizations to assist families with autism access evidenced-based treatment, family support, and other needed resources.

Our Helpline is staffed by caring professionals who understand the unique challenges faced by today's military and veteran families. This free service offers information, creates connections and gives hope to stuggling families, wherever they are. It can also serve as a future resident's first step to moving to the National Home.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. (Act 310) The Act 310 Nonprofit Grants Program, made possible through emergency funding approved by the Hawaii State Legislature. Act 310 is the official law created from Hawaii’s Senate Bill 933, signed by Governor Josh Green in July 2025. Act 310 appropriates $50 million in state funds to support Hawaii’s nonprofit sector following unprecedented cuts to federal grants. Designed to reduce the incidence of undetected glaucoma, educate primary care physicians and the public about risk factors for glaucoma, offers a glaucoma examination at no cost to uninsured individuals determined to be at increased risk for glaucoma.

Promotes tourism to Kauai and responds to inquiries from the public on what to see and do on the island.
