Provides protective services to abused, neglected, or financially exploited dependent adults, 18 years and older. Takes action, with client consent, to prevent further abuse from occurring. Action taken may involve placement into adult day care centers, residential care homes, chore services, and/or counseling and other supportive services to adults.

Focuses on controlling pain, managing symptoms, providing comfort, dignity and quality of life when the quantity of life may be limited. Deals with the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual impact of the disease on the patient, the patient's family and significant others.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, swimming pool, outdoor volleyball and basketball courts, tennis courts and fields. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in art and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. (Hawaii VA Foundation) Community volunteers shops for and deliver groceries, medication and necessary supplies to the kupuna's home every 2 weeks. The kupuna pays for the groceries that the volunteer delivers. The volunteer does not enter the kupuna's home. Inquire about other islands in the service area.

Organized in 1979, the Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society (HPGS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of Hawaii’s older adults. We promote the understanding of the aging process, supportive services, and legislation that help people age with dignity and grace. It is the largest voluntary, multidisciplinary group in the State committed to dialogue and discussion, networking and information sharing on issues and policies affecting older adults in this geographical area. Currently, more than 400 older adults, caregivers, gerontology educators, medical and social service practitioners, health care providers, agency personnel and organizations from all sectors of the community make up the membership. Members can attend the meetings held three times a year.

Provides consumer loans to assist Hawaii residents build credit, repair credit, pay off debt or address financial or housing emergencies. All borrowers receive individualized financial counseling. Hawaiian Community Assets does the financial counseling.

Early Childhood Services are provided to children three to six years old with delays in which age appropriate milestones are not yet met. These children typically fall outside the scope of the Department of Education & Special Education Services. The needs of each child are met through professional therapeutic services designed for the child to help them thrive in their home, preschool and community. Our goal is to better prepare the child for kindergarten and beyond by using family engagement techniques and strategies.

Meals on Wheels are available for seniors, 60 years old or older, who are homebound due to illness or disability. Keiki ages 11 years old - 17 years old will learn ocean safety from City lifeguards at no cost. Children will learn rescue boards, rescue tubes, and near-shore search and rescue techniques from some of the City and County of Honolulu lifeguards. Keiki will also get an introduction to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic first aid. Classes are free and will be held during the fall break from school: October 9-13, 2023. Each session will run from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Dates and locations are: -Monday, October 9, 2023 - Kualoa Beach Park -Tuesday, October 10, 2023 - “Sherwoods,” which is Hunananiho, or Waimanalo Bay Beach Park -Wednesday, October 11, 2023 - Pokai Bay Beach Park -Thursday, October 12, 2023 - Kaimana Beach -Friday, October 13, 2023 - Kailua Beach Park Enrollment is first come, first served basis. Through active, experimental learning, youth learn about science, communication, personal management, leadership, citizenship, health, safety, and nutrition. Members participate in citizenship projects, literacy program using television; "GHOSTWRITERS"; "KAMP" (Kindergartners Are Most Precious) designed to promote school readiness, success and parent-child interaction; and a "Youth At Risk" educational theater project.

(VASH - Kauai) Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) provides supportive services to meet the immediate and urgent needs of visitors to Hawaii Island who are victimized by crime, have medical emergencies, or suffer other adversities during their stay. Immediate needs may include assistance with canceling credit cards, providing emergency transportation, or garnering resources (soliciting donations) for food and lodging. VASH relies heavily on donations and community support. When needed resources are not readily available, we will make requests and network with other agencies to try and meet needs.

Donate items to Goodwill Industries of Hawaii. The donation center is located in the parking lot near Lenscrafters.

(WSPAP) The Western States Pension Assistance Project is a pension counseling project within Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC) that provides services free of charge, serving callers of all ages and income levels who live or have worked in California, Arizona, Nevada or Hawaii. There are no age or income requirements to this project. The team helps clients to understand their retirement plan rights and claim the benefits they have earned, regardless of the type of company or retirement benefit involved. They also assist with tracking down benefits from previous employers, working through the claims and appeals process, helping clients understand their rights as a former or surviving spouse, correcting pension benefit calculations, and addressing overpayment demands.

Conducts community and professional education and training in public health education practices, methodology, and principles. Provides consultation and technical assistance in public health education. Provides specialized training in child passenger safety (certified technician and instructor).
