Our adult day care programs offer a range of supervised activities in an uplifting, positive environment to enhance the quality of life for Hawaii’s seniors. (Domestic Violence Services for Families) When child abuse occurs in the home, violent behavior towards spouses and others is also often present. After a family is required to enter the child welfare system and is discovered to be experiencing other forms of domestic violence a care plan is developed for each family member. Services are then provided for both survivors (victims) and batterers (perpetrators) of violent behavior. Survivors create a safety plan and are offered various supportive services. Batterers are assessed and provided opportunities to learn alternative attitudes and behaviors. This program works with families involved in the child welfare system who are also experiencing domestic violence. Staff work with each family to assess for domestic violence and/or risk factors related to domestic violence. A care plan is developed for each family member. The services that are available for each family include: Domestic Violence Survivor Support and Pattern Changing Groups for Victims, Individual Counseling and Support for each family member, Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focusing on children, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Children’s Support Groups, and/or Adolescent Support Groups.

Provides services to individuals with disabilities who are seeking employment or independent living functioning. Provides counseling and guidance, physical and mental restoration, interpreter and reader services, technological aids, occupational licenses and rehabilitation technology. (Act 278) Kauai Economic Opportunity has been contracted to administer the Eviction Mediation Pilot Program. This two-year pilot program requires early and free mediation between landlords and tenants before eviction for nonpayment of rent. The program runs February 5, 2026 - February 4, 2028. Tenants have 10 calendar days to respond to an eviction notice. If a tenant requests mediation in 10 day notice period, then the landlord must participate before filing for eviction.
