Issues camping and use permits for state parks system. Plans, acquires, develops and maintains state park lands. Oahu State Parks include: Diamond Head State Monument, Hanauma Bay State Underwater Park, Heeia State Park, Iolani Palace State Monument, Kaena Point State Park, Kahana Valley State Park, Keaiwa Heiau State Recreation Area, Makapuu Point State Wayside, Malaekahana State Recreation Area, Nuuanu Pali State Wayside, Puu o Mahuka Heiau State Monument, Puu Ualakaa State Wayside, Royal Mausoleum State Monument, Sand Island State Recreation Area, Ulu Po Heiau State Monument, Waahila Ridge State Recreation Area, Wahiawa Freshwater State Recreation Area. No state parks located on Lanai. Kakaako Waterfront Park is managed by Hawaii Community Development Authority. Sacred Falls State Park on Oahu remains closed since a rockslide in 1999. Penalty for entering a closed area.
