(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. (Mentorship Program) Our flagship program provides internships, college apprenticeships, and alternative learning opportunities for youth ages 12 years old - 25 years old facing challenging life circumstances. (ADRC) The Aging and Disability Resource Center is the source for individuals who are aging and have disabilities to get impartial information about support and services that help them remain living at home as long as possible with dignity and quality of life. The ADRC staff members provide Options Counseling. It's a process that assists you to make informed decisions to select the long term services and support you need to age well and maintain independence. The ADRC is for people of all incomes and ages, to help you make plans that carry out your individual needs and preferences. It is also a point of access for all publically funded long term support programs and benefits. ADRC is operated by the State of Hawaii in cooperation with the four county governments.

(VWATS) The Vocational and Work Adjustment Training Services Program (VWATS) is designed to give individuals the opportunity to gain access to 1) opportunities in a variety of environments, 2) training with experts in the field of employment and 3) evaluations to meet the needs of individuals that are deemed Significantly Disabled and Most Significantly Disabled by Oahu’s Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors. No-contact virtual training is also offered. The scope of this service is broad because it is organized to set a model to: Explore local and national job industry Utilize national evaluations to determine an employment profile to aid in gaining and maintaining employment Determine a good person environment fit for potential employment Develop resumes, cover letters and national assessments

(St Francis Hospice) Nationally accredited by The Joint Commission, St. Francis Hospice, the state’s first hospice program, provides compassionate care and comfort for terminally ill patients in their homes, in nursing homes, and at our inpatient facility in Nuuanu. We make each moment count, enhancing the quality of life for patients, and their families and friends. St. Francis Hospice also has one of the most advanced bereavement services programs, offering support groups, walks in shopping malls, and other activities for families who have lost a loved one. St. Francis Hospice provides a specially trained, interdisciplinary healthcare team that may include a medical director, nurse, social worker, chaplain, hospice aide, volunteer, and bereavement counselor. The St. Francis Hospice care team focuses on each individual patient’s needs to ensure comfort and the best quality of life for our patients and their families.

Assists persons recovering from mild to catastrophic strokes who may need to make major physical and psychological adjustments to cope with paralysis, speech problems, cognitive deficits, swallowing disorders, and visual perception difficulties. Assesses and treats swallowing disorders. Provides mobility training or wheelchair skills. Develops adaptive techniques and custom-designed equipment. Provides speech theraphy. Computer therapy for visual, perceptual, and cognitive training. Stroke Support Group meets every first Tuesday of each month from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. Everyone (patient, family, caregivers, etc.) is welcome, there is no membership fee.

Hawaii Agricultural Foundation provides teacher trainings. Teacher trainings for Tower Power are now active in 24 schools statewide. The program is now expanding to Hawaii Island. Tower Power gives students a hands-on, ag-tech and vertical farming lab-based experience using indoor aeroponic towers to grow and care for plants from seed to harvest in grade 6-8 classrooms. Through four dynamic learning units, students explore plant science, sustainability, and the future of farming while discovering how vertical growing systems can transform food production.
