The Respite Home program provides respite care as needed to families that are linked with the Department of Health Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD). The families that use the Respite Home therapeutic living program have behaviorally challenging youth in their homes and have used all of their resources to be able to maintain them on a constant basis. Respite Home services are designed to give these families short-term dependable relief to allow them to rejuvenate and provide a more stable family environment upon the youth’s return. This will hopefully decrease the potential for abuse and neglect and prevent placement of the youth in a more restrictive setting. Services included: -Activities that support daily living skills. -Culturally relevant recreational and social activities. -On-call crisis intervention and support. -Medication monitoring.

(YO) Since 1989, Youth Outreach (YO!) has provided medical and social services to homeless youth. Beyond basic services, YO! offers encouragement and the opportunity to create positive change, which most homeless youth don't find anywhere else. Services are provided free of charge. Community support is vital to help sustain the program. GED training available, as well as employment counseling. Services are provided at the YO! drop-in center and by outreach teams, who travel in Waikiki offering assistance and information to potential YO! clients. YO! is jointly operated by Waikiki Health and Hale Kipa, Inc.

(Domestic Violence Advocacy) Families who are enrolled in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Temporary Assistance to Other Needy Families (more commonly known as “welfare”), are required to be engaged in activities that will ultimately lead them to self-sufficiency. Program recipients for whom issues of safety and domestic violence are interfering with their progress can call upon Domestic Violence Advocacy to help them find support to change their situations. Services include: assessment, service planning, counseling services, case management and linkage and referral. Provides a range of supportive services to help individuals involved in domestic abuse situations to become self sufficient.
