Community Recreational Gardening

All other improvements and services shall be provided by the gardeners. (Therapeutic Crisis Homes) The Therapeutic Crisis Homes (TCH) program provides youth the opportunity to stabilize with trained TCH parents who provide them with support and guidance they need to return to their families safely. Services are offered to each youth based on his/her individual needs. Youth are provided with individual counseling and family counseling with the ultimate goal of reunification with their families within 3 to 7 days. Crisis Home Parents provide a safe environment for youth ages 5 years old - 17 years old to stabilize their emotional and physical situation in time of crisis. Services included support, guidance and individual as well as family counseling to stabilize the situation so that youth can reunite with their families within 3-7 days. Trained staff professionals also help to develop an after-care plan for families and referrals to public and private follow-up services.

Therapeutic Respite Home

The Respite Home program provides respite care as needed to families that are linked with the Department of Health Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD). The families that use the Respite Home therapeutic living program have behaviorally challenging youth in their homes and have used all of their resources to be able to maintain them on a constant basis. Respite Home services are designed to give these families short-term dependable relief to allow them to rejuvenate and provide a more stable family environment upon the youth’s return. This will hopefully decrease the potential for abuse and neglect and prevent placement of the youth in a more restrictive setting. Services included: -Activities that support daily living skills. -Culturally relevant recreational and social activities. -On-call crisis intervention and support. -Medication monitoring.

Youth Outreach Program

(YO) Since 1989, Youth Outreach (YO!) has provided medical and social services to homeless youth. Beyond basic services, YO! offers encouragement and the opportunity to create positive change, which most homeless youth don't find anywhere else. Services are provided free of charge. Community support is vital to help sustain the program. GED training available, as well as employment counseling. Services are provided at the YO! drop-in center and by outreach teams, who travel in Waikiki offering assistance and information to potential YO! clients. YO! is jointly operated by Waikiki Health and Hale Kipa, Inc.
