Animal Quarantine Branch

Governs the importation of dogs and cats into Hawaii. Operates the Animal Quarantine Station. Dogs and cats meeting specific pre and post arrival requirements may qualify for 5-day-or-less quarantine or direct release at Honolulu International Airport after inspection. Visit the website for the Department of Agriculture's Checklist for 5-Day-Or-Less Program for requirement or phone. Depending on a pet's rabies vaccination status, it takes between 4 1/2 to 7 months to prepare a pet to qualify for the 5-Day-or-Less program. Dogs and cats not meeting all of the specific 5-Day-Or-Less program requirements are quarantined up to 120 days upon arrival in Hawaii.
