Eligibility for reduced quarantine 5-day-or-less program is dependent on meeting all requirements on the Department of Agriculture's "Checklist For 5-Day-Or-Less Program". Required documents must be submitted to the Animal Quarantine Station more than 10 days before intended arrival. Eligibility for 120-day quarantine program is not limited. Health certificate issued by an accredited veterinarian within 14 days of arrival is required.

Governs the importation of dogs and cats into Hawaii. Operates the Animal Quarantine Station. Dogs and cats meeting specific pre and post arrival requirements may qualify for 5-day-or-less quarantine or direct release at Honolulu International Airport after inspection. Depending on a pet's rabies vaccination status, it takes between 4 1/2 to 7 months to prepare a pet to qualify for the 5-Day-or-Less program. Dogs and cats not meeting all of the specific 5-Day-Or-Less program requirements are quarantined up to 120 days upon arrival in Hawaii.
