Rotavirus vaccination (to prevent acute gastroenteritis with vomiting and severe diarrhea) is recommended during the first year of infancy. A baby should receive two or three doses depending on the brand used. Some childhood immunizations involve a series of doses at specific intervals. 101
Childhood Toxic Stress YF-5000.1700-090 A condition that can occur when children are exposed to childhood adversity such as abuse, neglect, domestic violence, parental mental illness or a substance use disorder without adequate adult support, and/or experience negative social factors such as housing instability, food insecurity, discrimination and community violence. Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the toxic stress they can bring may have lasting, negative effects on health and well-being. This kind of prolonged activation of the stress response systems can disrupt the development of brain architecture and other organ systems, and increase the risk for stress-related disease and cognitive impairment, well into the adult years. When a toxic stress response occurs continually, or is triggered by multiple sources, it can have a cumulative toll on an individual's physical and mental health that can persist well into adulthood. Children growing up with toxic stress may also have difficulty forming healthy and stable relationships, experience depression, may have unstable work histories as adults and struggle with finances and employment throughout life. The more adverse experiences in childhood, the greater the likelihood of developmental delays and later health problems including cancer, heart disease, diabetes and suicide. Researchers have found that early intervention, positive childhood experiences and buffering from caring adults can reduce and sometimes eliminate the impact of ACEs. Research also indicates that supportive, responsive relationships with caring adults as early in life as possible can prevent or reverse the damaging effects of toxic stress response. 0

The type, intensity and consistency of these manifestations may change dynamically over the life of the child depending on a variety of medical, psychosocial and community factors. The children typically require the care of a primary care physician working as part of a multidisciplinary team that may include psychologists, rehabilitation specialists, nutritionists, social workers, home nurses, pharmacists and other professionals. The child's service needs have a significant impact on the family unit, specifically the time devoted to direct care and the care coordination, the frequent provider visits and the financial burden, but also on the health care system. They have to be transported to and from the cells by special carriers called lipoproteins including low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL). High levels of LDL cholesterol can build up in the walls of the arteries that feed the heart and the brain and form plaque, a thick hard substance that can clog the arteries. HDL tends to carry cholesterol away from the arteries back to the liver where it is passed from the body. Triglycerides are the chemical form in which most fat exists in food as well as in the body.
