(I Ola, OHA Emergency Relief Fund, I Ola, OHA Emergency Relief Fund) The Hawaiian Council administers the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) Emergency Relief Fund, I Ola. OHA provides up to $1,200 in one-time financial assistance to Native Hawaiian federal civilian employees of the Department of Homeland Security who are impacted by the federal government shutdown effective February 14, 2026.

(Hawaii Relief Program) Maui Economic Opportunity has been contracted to administer the Hawaii Relief Program. Eligible applicants may receive up to four months of financial assistance, including: -Up to 4 months of rent or mortgage (up to $6,000 per month) -One time security deposit (actual housing deposit amount up to the maximum of $6,000) -Up to 4 months of utility assistance ($2,000 per month per utility source) -One time Utility deposit (up to $3,000 per utility source). -One-time automobile down payment -Up to 4 months of automobile payments Utility payments may include electricity, gas, or water expense, or a combination of these utility sources. The Kauai Independent Food Bank (KIFB) makes referrals for food to the public (individuals needing food). Referrals are made to the 50 distribution sites throughout Kauai and specifically non-profit member agencies and churches on Kauai.
