Operates a variety of programs to prevent cancer or assist persons with cancer or persons who want information on cancer. Cancer Specialists: On duty with science-based, trusted information 24 hours a day by calling 1-800-227-2345 or you can visit www.cancer.org. Each office is stocked with up-to-date free brochures, books and videos you or your caregiver can borrow. For your convenience, many items can be mailed to you. Patient Services Navigators: Through our Division's Patient Services Center, specialists connect patients with information, resources and support, and help eliminate barriers to needed care. Financial Assistance: A limited amount of indirect assistance is available to any cancer patient in Hawaii for patient services not covered by insurance such as transportation for medical appointments and treatment, breast prostheses, wigs and hats. Referrals to local resources as well as mainland resources too.
