The primary goal is to provide supportive services so that individuals do not return to incarceration. Friends of the Library of Hawai'i (FLH) exists to promote and support the fifty public libraries that make up the Hawai'i State Public Library System. FLH promotes literacy, education, and library services. The organization supports librarians in continuing education opportunities and offers scholarships for graduate students at the University of Hawaii interested in a library career. FLH fundraises throughout the year through a number of book sales as well as a golf tournament. Volunteers are needed for events and for year-round sorting and pricing of books and media. Receives reports of dead dogs and cats on highways and other public areas. Arranges for disposal.

Issues permits for use of public streets for parades, blockage for construction purposes and other special uses.

Kapaa Missionary Church provides food in grocery boxes. The church also provides emergency food.

Primary Care health services, including integrated behavioral health, dental, assistance with health insurance applications, and some specialty services. We are a federally qualified health center.

Aloha Harvest rescues quality donated food from hotels, restaurants, food distributors, caterers, businesses and individuals then delivers the food "free of charge" to approved social service agencies that feed the needy, hungry and homeless on Oahu. We store nothing. What is picked up each day is delivered that same day to the agencies. The drivers' routes are Sunday-Saturday 5:30 am - 1:00 pm.

(Aikido of Hilo) Provides classes in Aikido, a Japanese self-defense martial art. Teaches awareness, relaxation, discipline, respect for others, union of mind-body-spirit, centeredness, and harmony with self, others and the universe. We offer youth, teen, adult and kupuna classes.

(Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Services are provided to child and adult victims, non-offending partners, alleged juvenile and adult offenders, and siblings. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. Provides group counseling, individual counseling, mother-daughter counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling services for victims of incest, their siblings, non-offending parents, and offenders.

(MIECHV) Partnering with ‘Ohana from pregnancy until kindergarten. ‘Ohana receive weekly home visits where they have the opportunity to grow in positive parenting practices, learn about their child’s development, and build a loving relationship between parent and child. Our Parent Educators provide the Parents as Teachers (PAT) and Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) programs as a part of the your ‘Ohana Network of the state of Hawai’i. (Community-Based Mentoring Program) Case Managers at Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii work with parents, guardians, therapists, counselors, schools, and youth serving organizations to identify and pair under-resourced youth from ages 6 years old and older with one-on-one mentors. Case Managers create an outcome development plan in collaboration with the parent/guardian, child and volunteer. Plans are updated yearly. Youth and their mentors meet 2-3 times per month for a few hours each outing. Outings are selected by the youth. Mentors pick-up their mentees and are responsible for transportation and other costs they incur. Some of the costs are offset by sponsored activities and discounts at partnering companies.

Lanakila Pacific empowers people with disabilities to build their independence through personal development, job training and employment services. It is widely known for the Lanakila Meals on Wheels program that provides meals to seniors islandwide.

(Mentorship Program) Our flagship program provides internships, college apprenticeships, and alternative learning opportunities for youth ages 12 years old - 25 years old facing challenging life circumstances. Immersed in all aspects of cultivating kalo, participants deepen their understanding of Hawaiian culture and environmental stewardship while growing in healthy self-concept and life skills.

Scholarships are given as a reimbursement for the tuition of college-level courses in early childhood education, for Professional and Career Education for Early Childhood (PACE) classes taken if converted to college credits, or for direct assessment fees in obtaining a Child Development Association (CDA) certificate. Scholarships are available for anyone who successfully completes the above (Fiscal year basis & based on availability of funds).
