We partner with other nonprofit organizations that have underutilized commercial kitchens to create a food services training and apprenticeship program. These kitchens serve as our vocational training work sites and is also where we operate our social enterprises.

Apprenticeship Program empowers graduates to advance their skills and learning through Baker’s Heart bakery with on-the-job training in production, customer service and sales

Residential Treatment
Provides confidential individual, group, family treatment programs for substance abuse. Conducts programs over 12 - 15 weeks. Focuses on education, skill building, therapy, psycho-education. Serves court-referred youth and students at participating schools. Residential services including intensive therapy of chemically dependent youth referred by families, courts, CAMHD, others.

Parents And Children Together (PACT) provides a confidential facility available around the clock for survivors and their children in crisis. Services include safety planning, case management, and referrals to legal, medical, financial, and housing assistance.

A staff member will speak with you over the phone to see how we can best help you and provide resources that are available through our shelter program or another agency. The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance.
A paper copy of the application can be downloaded, printed, signed and submitted via US postal mail or dropped off in the drop box. For a PDF of the paper application, visit the website and click on "SNAP (formerly Food Stamps)" from the menu "Benefit, Employment & Support Services (BESSD) SNAP, Financial, Child Care, General Assistance and more". The click on the link "If you are unable to apply online, you may download and print this paper form application – click here".

Kauai Independent Food Bank

The Kauai Independent Food Bank (KIFB) provides food to the needy on the island making food and products available to agency partner distributions sites. KIFB serves homeless, elderly, children and those experiencing temporary emergencies. KIFB also has a vocational rehabilitation program, operates Keiki Cafe and a Backpack Program as well as provides nutrition education assistance.
KIFB makes referrals for food to the public (individuals needing food). Referrals are made to the 50 distribution sites throughout Kauai and specifically non-profit member agencies and churches on Kauai.
