Youth Services groups are offered in both East and West Hawaii to both boys and girls ages 12-17 who are deemed perpetrators of harm. The focus of this group is to offer tools for reducing impulsive behaviors, improving self esteem and increasing the level of social competence as well as addressing the dynamics of adolescent victimization. The Youth Service groups are 20 weeks long and group is once per week; however, times and days of group may vary by location.

Facilitates the development of a desirable living environment through dialogue with the community and the application of professional planning principles. Serves as the technical advisor to the mayor, council and planning commissions on all planning and related matters. Recommends revisions to the general plan at least every ten years to guide the development of the county. Prepares and enforces zoning ordinances, zoning maps and regulations and any amendments or modifications there to. Provides the services necessary to meet the objective and policies of the Hawaii Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Program, to administer all developments and activities within the Special Management Area (SMA). Processes permits for special uses, County special uses, changes in zoning, district boundary review and other permits requiring zoning. Continually reviews planning concepts and documents through discussions with the public, policy makers, public service agencies, landowners and County boards and commissions.

Provides loans for existing homes, construction of new homes and repairs. Provides loans and grants for community facilities, infrastructure and businesses. Offers home repair grants to senior citizens.

AmeriCorps State and National engages in grant-making to support organizations that see service as a solution to local and national challenges. Funded programs—at state service commissions, tribes, and local, regional, and national organizations—use national service to address community needs across a range of focus areas. Awardees receive funds on an annual basis.

Our Wahiawa site opened in 1989. Our facility is located on the grounds of Olive Methodist Church, although we are not associated with any religious denomination. We offer a developmentally appropriate program, serving 49 children ranging in age from 2-5 years. Our toddler class accepts children in various stages of toilet training. Licensed by the State of Hawaii Department of Human Service and nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All staff meet State licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist. Please contact the Center Director directly to set up a visit.

Provides recreational, cultural and leisure activities for both active and passive participants. Provides Summer Fun program for children K - 6th grade.

Offers plays, musicals and performing arts classes and programs. Facility may be rented out for productions, meetings, etc. Offers full service costume shop with costumes for sale or rental.

Private school includes grades K-8 for boys and girls.

(Our Kupuna, Hawaii VA Foundation) The program connects each low-income homebound kupuna with a sponsor (a community volunteer who shops for and delivers groceries, medication and necessary supplies to the kupuna's home every 2 weeks). The kupuna pays for the groceries that the volunteer delivers. The volunteer does not enter the kupuna's home. Inquire about other islands in the service area.

(MEO) Assists low-income individuals and legal permanent residents to become self-sufficient by providing counseling services, pre-employment training, and support services.

Legislates public policy through a nine member panel elected to a two year term. Responds to community priorities, schedules public hearings and receives public testimony.

City and County of Honolulu's Department of Community Services is now accepting pre-eligibility inquiries for home loans up to $40,000. Families earning up to 80% of Honolulu’s area median income can qualify. Loans will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified Oʻahu residents. Step 1 – If you appear eligible, the lender will be asked to list the City's Down Payment loan of $40,000 (or less) as "subordinate financing" on your Uniform Residental Loan Application (commonly referred to as a Fannie Mae Form 1003 or Freddie Mac Form 65). Step 2 – After initial loan approval from your first mortgage lender, the lender will be asked to submit electronic copies of your loan application and supporting documents to the City. The City will use copies of the lender's finalized loan forms and supporting documentation to approve the Down Payment loan.

(PSI Helpline) Provides a helpline for support and local referrals for postpartum mental health, along with online information and support groups to help families, providers, and communities learn about the emotional and mental health of childbearing families. Website helps locate specialized support coordinators. The helpline connects callers to crisis hotlines, support groups, and events in that area. Helpline runs 24/7, but is staffed only during business hours. Callers may leave confidential messages anytime and staff will return them as soon as possible.

A stimulating tour through three historic buildings helps museum visitors discover how a small group of New England missionaries – who came to the islands in 1820 – worked with the Native Hawaiians to introduce Christianity, to develop a written language, public education, western medicine and representative government.

Salvation Army Lihue provides a grab and go or eat on site meal Tuesday-Thursday 11:00 am - 12:00 pm or until meals run out.

Provides developmentally appropriate play activities for hospitalized children. Conducts pre-operative tours to minimize stress and anxiety for child/family related to illness, hospitalization or medical encounters. Coordinates volunteer activities in playroom. Conducts interventions to prevent emotional trauma. Available to all patients.

(American Cancer Society Cancer Survivors Network, American Cancer Society I Can Cope Class, American Cancer Society Look Good Feel Better, American Cancer Society Look Good/Feel Better, American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery) Reach To Recovery: Trained volunteers who are breast cancer survivors provide emotional and educational support for women who are facing or have had breast cancer surgery. Cancer Survivors Network: Online community created for survivors and caregivers to connect with others, visit www.cancer.org Gift Items: A limited supply of wigs, hats, turbans, scarves and breast prostheses are available by appointment. These items are received by the local offices by donations from others and through our TLC Catalog. Support Groups: The office is a clearinghouse of information on local self-help and support groups that provide emotional and educational help. Patients and caregivers also are invited to visit the Cancer Survivors' Network at www.cancer.org . Relay For Life: You are invited to attend Relay For Life, our annual event to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and give everyone the opportunity to fight back against cancer. We encourage all survivors to attend this fun, uplifting event.

(Easter Seals Hawaii Home and Community-Based Services, Easter Seals Hawaii Honolulu Services Center Adult Day Health Program) Adult Day Health (ADH) focuses on providing a small group environment that fosters growth, and challenges the adult participant to increase independence in a variety of community settings. Emphasis is placed on individual choice, allowing adults to pursue opportunities that match their interests and skills while promoting their dignity and independence. The program provides daily respite for individual and family caregivers as well as provides participants with educational, social, health and recreational opportunities. ADH participants have a full-range of activities to choose from including: the option to go on daily excursions, enjoy art programs, volunteer in the community, attend computer classes with the aid of assistive technology, learn money skills, participate in weekly hula classes or give back to the community through recycling programs. Personal Assistance Habilitation (PAB)-one-on-one services with the purpose of developing independent living skills such as bathing, dressing, feeding, cookin

(Ola I Ka Hana Youth Program) Program for youth with low-income and at-risk youth who are in or out of school. Help with building skills to obtain a High School Equivalency or GED, exploring post-secondary education, and employment exploration.

Conducts surveillance and investigation of communicable diseases (other than tuberculosis, Hansen's Disease). Implements control measures necessary to decrease and prevent infectious disease. Provides information to the public about infectious diseases, travel information, immunization and general information on vaccination for childhood diseases. Also provides a patient referral letter for a free (STDs) chlamydia, gonorrhea or syphilis test.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households.
