The HPCC mission is to make prostate cancer a primary health care priority in Hawaii, and to eliminate prostate cancer as a cause of suffering and death. The HPCC strives to save lives by promoting awareness of prostate cancer in Hawaii, with special emphasis on prevention, early detection, treatment options, and survival.

The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. The Armed Services YMCA has proudly served Hawaii-based military and their family members since 1917. These centers offer a variety of programs, activities, and services. Na Hoaloha volunteers provides round-trip transportation for older adults or people with a disability for needed medical appointments, procedures, grocery shopping, or medications retrievals. Na Hoaloha provides help to those who are home bound and have no access to other forms of transportation. 10 day advanced notice requested.

Transitional housing for HIV+ individuals who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. Participants may stay between 3 and 24 months; there is on-site curricula, one-on-one counseling, and group activities. Participants pay 30% of income towards rent. Not a hospice or treatment facility, but ensures that participants are connected to needed primary medical care and support services.
