(YWCA of Kauai Camp Sloggett) Operates camp for use by schools, churches, non-profit agencies, family groups and other organizations. Used for day-long or overnight workshops, seminars or training programs. Space available for tent camping. Situated in the lush forest of Koke`e State Park is YWCA of Kaua'i Camp Sloggett. We offer a rustic and peaceful atmosphere in the heart of the 4,640 acre Koke`e forest and the 1,800 acre Waimea Canyon State Park.

The CDC National Prevention Information Network (NPIN) is the U.S. reference and referral service for information on HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and tuberculosis (TB). NPIN is a next-generation clearinghouse that collects and disseminates data and materials to support the work of prevention organizations and workers in international, national, state, and local settings. Our services are designed to facilitate program collaboration in sharing information, resources, published materials, research, and trends among the four diseases.

(H-HEAP, LIHEAP ECI, ECI, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Crisis Intervention) The Hawaii Home Energy Assistance Program (H-HEAP) is a federally funded program that provides eligible low-income households with a one-time utility assistance payment. Emergency Crisis Intervention (ECI) assists households in crisis (utility termination is current or impending) by assisting with a one-time credit up to $650.00 to help restore or prevent termination of electric or gas services through Hawaiian Electric or Hawaii Gas Company. Applications are accepted on a month-by-month basis, but approvals are limited and space fills quickly. Payments are made directly to your utility company. You can choose either Energy Credit (EC) or Emergency Crisis Intervention (ECI), just one assistance per fiscal year. A checklist of additional required documents is included in the application. Documents can be sent as a PDF or JPEG as long as copies are clear. H-HEAP will not be responsible for returning original documents if sent in (e.g. ID's, Birth Certificates, Social Security Cards, Paystubs, Housing Documentation, etc.); Please provide copies only.

(KGAR) A 1.2 mile (untimed) fun run for youth ages 12 and under at Ala Moana Beach Park. Annually, the event raises over $20,000 dollars to support participating public and private elementary schools’ PE, health education and physical activity programs. For as school to participate and qualify for a donation, a minimum of 10 participants per school must register to be eligible for a donation. The last Keiki Great Aloha Run was on Saturday, March 26, 2022 as a 1.5 mile virtual race. Participants

Assists homeowners or renters who are delinquent in mortgage or rental payments. Attempts to work out loan repayment plan and provides advice on possible options available. Assesses the levels of services needed by older persons in Hawaii County and develops programs that address these needs. Awards contracts to service providers in the community who have shown the ability and willingness to deliver quality programs efficiently. Provides technical assistance and monitors and evaluates their performance. Coordinates the administration of services with other agencies. Coordinates training programs for those who provide services to older persons. Assures older persons in Hawaii County of convenient access to information and referral services and disability parking permits.

NIH Osteoporosis and Related Bone Diseases National Resource Center is a service provided by the National Institutes of Health. Provides written material on osteoporosis to patients, health professionals and the public in English, Spanish and selected Asian languages (Vietnamese, Chinese & Korean). Also carries materials on other metabolic bone diseases such as Paget's Disease and Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Does not provide counseling over the phone.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. (LMPC) The Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center (LMPC) provides social, recreational, educational, cultural and health activities with the overall goal of helping seniors remain independent and preventing premature institutionalization. Classes in Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Cribbage and other board games, Dance (Chinese, Hula, Korean, Yui Buyo) , Digital Technology, Gardening, Guitar, Hanafuda, Japanese Calligraphy, Line Dancing, Mah Jong, Pickleball, Ping Pong, Language Classes (ASL, Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish), Sewing, Stretch and Tone, Tai Chi, Taisho Koto, Yoga, and many more classes. A variety of cultural clubs meet weekly. Opportunities for community service, obtaining new skills, health improvement, continuing education for seniors and access to other services.
