Temporary 24-hour care for older adults of all ethnicities to offer care providers an opportunity to take a break from the rigors of care giving responsibilities. Kahuku was the site of the first Rainbow School and has been operating continuously since 1972. We serve approximately 65 children ranging in age from 2 years to 5 years old. Our program is licensed by the State of Hawaii and all staff meet state licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist. Kokua Kalihi Valley (KKV) is a community organization with the mission for "healing and reconciliation in the Kalihi Valley community". KKV serves residents in Kalihi Valley a Medically Underserved Area and Health Personnel Shortage Area, as designated by the Public Health Service. Services include: dental, medical, family planning, WIC nutrition, behavioral health, elderly services, elderly exercise classes, youth development, case management, transportation, translation, case management and outreach, sewing program and Micronesian women's group.

This CDC-recognized program is a year-long structured lifestyle change program that includes dietary coaching and moderate physical activity, all with the goal of preventing or delaying the onset of type 2 diabetes among those who are at high risk for diabetes. The program consists of 16 core sessions over the course of the first six months, followed by less-intensive classes held monthly for the rest of the year-long program. The goal of the program is to cut one's risk of developing diabetes in half by losing 5-7% of their body weight through healthier eating and engaging in 150 minutes of physical activity each week. This program also includes shopping tours, cooking classes, exercise, on-site gardening, and stress management sessions.

(Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. The Veterans Assistance unit is comprised of Veterans Service Representatives (VSRs) who deliver, with a sense of respect and compassion, those benefits that the law has made available to veterans, their dependents and survivors. VSRs are responsible for direct contact with the public on nearly all VA matters, including advice, counsel, assistance in the preparation of applications for VA benefits, and resolution of inquiries concerning these benefits, development of community resources, outreach to minority veterans, homeless veterans, women and Ex-POW veterans, various veteran groups, and providing transition services to military installations.
