Students take the tablet home and our book coaches work with the families via text message to support and empower families to build strong reading routines in the home. Families keep the tablets once the program is complete.

(Ohana Energy Gift Program) The Hawaiian Electric Company Ohana Energy Gift Program allows customers of Hawaiian Electric to make payments toward a designated recipient's electric account. The recipient will receive an acknowledgement letter once the gift amount has been applied to his or her account. Gift givers will receive a confirmation letter once the designated recipient's account information has been verified and the gift amount has been applied. Ohana Energy Gifts are not tax deductible donations. The gifts may be anonymous, or the gift giver may choose to also send a special acknowledgement card with a personalized message. If a recipient is not designated, the energy gift will be given to individuals and families in need. Visit the website to download and print out the Ohana Energy Gift Form. Medically underserved persons are defined as: "Individuals who, because of economic, geographic, cultural or physical barriers, lack access to primary health care services." The Association is comprised of thirteen health centers operating in forty-three locations in the islands including Bay Clinic, West Hawaii Community Health Center, Hamakua Hamakua Health Center, Community Clinic of Maui, Hana Health Center, Molokai Community Health Center, Kalihi Palama Health Center, Kokua Kalihi Valley Health Center, Waikiki Health Center, Waimanalo Health Center, Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, Koolauloa Community Health and Wellness Center and Kauai Community Health Center.
