(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. (Food Pantry, St Joseph Catholic Church Food Pantry) Saint Joseph Catholic Church provides a food pantry for those in need. Each household receives one bag of groceries and one bag of fresh vegetables and/or frozen items. Households with 4 or more members receives two bags of groceries and two bags of fresh vegetables and/or frozen items. Clients need to register with the Food Pantry to qualify when they receive their food items for the first time. Food donations of canned fruits, meats, soup, beans, vegetables, cereal, and juice are welcome. Any food donations can be left in the food donation bin at the entrance of the church.

A weekly homeless outreach ministry fundamentally based around food distribution, gospel proclamation, and life transformation. We offer groceries, a hot meal, and haircuts. Occasionally, we also offer showers, and aides signing up for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Parents And Children Together (PACT) offers safe, compassionate, and confidential support in three counties for youth and families coping with serious behavioral, social and emotional challenges. Our evidence-based therapeutic models focus on family networks and relationships, school or job performance, peer connections and relationships, and community networks of support. All services are provided free of charge with referrals.

(Na Kia i O Maui, Lahaina Resource and Recovery Center) Na Kia i O Maui provides household goods, furniture, daily essentials, and nonperishable food to fire survivors of Lahaina and Upcountry Maui and March 2026 Kona Low flood survivors. (Emergency and Transitional Housing Programs) HOPE emergency shelter programs provide shelter for families and individuals that are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Services include intake/assessment, case management, referrals/linkages to community resources, access to bed space, storage, meals, laundry, food pantry and clothing bank.
