HIPPY is a parent involvement and school readiness program.

. The curriculum is scripted to help parents deliver the lessons to their children with confidence.

Division of Aquatic Resources - Maui

Hele-on Bus Services

Provides island wide public transportation, including transportation for disabled individuals. The County of Hawai'i Mass Transit Agency also provides a Shared Ride Taxi Program in Hilo. The Hele-On bus system generally operates Monday through Saturday from 3:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., with limited service on Sundays and County observed holidays.
When using the Hele-On Bus System, MTA suggests you wait at official bus stops and arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time. For current information, please visit the Hele-On website prior to traveling at http://heleonbus.org/

The Food Basket purchases Hawaii Island grown produce from our local farmers and resells to customers island-wide, keeping produce affordable and increasing small farm viability.
DA BOX was created to both support local farmers and to provide affordable access to fresh, Hawaii Island grown produce.
Each week of produce consists of a minimum of seven items, generally one to two fruits and five to six vegetables.
The program website also provides free access to recipes, a "food for thought" community blog, and a "meet the farmers" section to introduce the community to the local farms and farmers, as well as a weekly newsletter.

American Civil Liberties Union of Hawaii Foundation
Defends and protects the constitutional freedoms guaranteed in the Bill of Rights and the Hawaii State Constitution. Consists of 3 major program areas:
Public Education: Coordinates volunteers. Provides speakers and materials to groups wanting to hear about civil liberties and handles special program events for the organization including forums, debates, speech tours, etc. Free publications of interest include the Police Contact Card, copies of the Bill of Rights, brochures about one's rights during a federal investigation and a right to protest.
Legal Program: Responds to any request for help sent in writing to the office. Depending on resources available, may investigate resolve or litigate complaints concerning the infringement of civil rights by government agencies. May also provide amicus briefs to cooperating attorneys. (Note they do NOT give legal advice or handle complaints against non-government employers or businesses, or civil matters like divorce or custody battles.)
