(Ka Puuwai O Na Keiki, Enhanced Healthy Start, DHS Home Visiting Services) We are a team of Home Visitors that respond to referrals from CWS for Maui County and also FSS and VCM for the island of Maui, and then offer screening for risk factors, assessments, treatment planning and service delivery to reach goals of reunification, parenting skills, support, resources and referrals. Each family referred to our team will be getting visits from a Registered Nurse to identify any developmental challenges and help with health needs. She is also a lactation specialist. They will also receive visits from a Clinical Supervisor for assistance in life with things like addiction, domestic violence and mental health. And each family will be assigned a Family Support Worker who will offer Nurturing Parenting lessons and offering support in an effort to identify and decrease risk factors as well as increasing protective factors. Ka Pu'uwai O Na Keiki never has a waitlist but is specifically referral only for parents and foster parents with a child between the ages of 0 to 3. Accepts collect calls.

Our Cancer Rehabilitation Program (CRP) is a comprehensive program that provides outpatient rehabilitation to cancer patients and survivors. Whether newly diagnosed or finished with treatment, we can help decrease pain and enable individuals to safely and effectively regain independence. Our goal is to help patients love their life as they did before cancer. For those who want to increase their independence and fulfill rehab goals, the CRP may be the right path. Patients work with a team of cancer rehabilitation specialists, including physical therapists and exercise physiologists, to create a program tailored specifically towards improving quality of life.

The Kona Historical Society practices the traditional art of baking Portuguese bread in a large wood-fired stone oven, or forno, located in the Kalukalu Pasture below the Society’s headquarters, H.N. Judiciary of the Second Circuit Court

Jury trials are held in the Circuit Courts, which have general jurisdiction in civil and criminal cases. They also have exclusive jurisdiction in probate, guardianship and criminal felony cases, as well as civil cases where the contested amount exceeds $40,000. Circuit Courts share concurrent jurisdiction with District Courts in civil non-jury cases in which the amounts in controversy are between $10,000 and $40,000. Other cases heard by the Circuit Courts include mechanics' liens and misdemeanor violations transferred from the District Courts for jury trials.

Sounding Joy's Direct Services include music therapy consultation, assessment, treatment planning, evaluation, and individual/group sessions conducted by Board Certified Music Therapists (MT-BC's). Music therapy sessions can be offered either individually or in group, according to the client's needs. We have grants and scholarships available to assist with payment for music therapy services. Our organization also offers various ranges of music therapy seminars and conferences, including continuing education credit opportunities.
