Special Needs Classroom Outreach Program is aimed at young people who are physically and mentally challenged. The objective is developing social, learning and motor skills through program activities and highlighted with a special camp out. The camp out is a very exciting time for students because they participate in activities that normal children participate in. The teachers and volunteers have viewed this activity as very positive. The youth are provided a means of achievement and recognition, personal development, self-help and self-esteem. KAMP Hawaii personnel have a proud working and friendly relationship with students, volunteers and teachers.

(PPP) Parent Participation Programs (PPP) meets twice a week at different communities around Oahu. The goal of PPP is to support parents as their child’s first teacher. Learning centers are set up to support hands-on learning and encourage parent/child interactions. Elder Law Program focuses on legal issues of socially and economically needy elders on Oahu and provides advice/counsel and referrals for problems involving public entitlements, guardianship/conservatorship, housing, landlord/tenant, elder abuse, age discrimination, consumer protection, healthcare decisions, and planning for incapacity and death.

Inspects and certifies imported and exported horticultural materials, non-domestic animals. Issues permit for import and export of these subjects.

(Feeding Hawaii Together, The Giving Tree (former name)) The Pantry by Feeding Hawaii Together employs a “grocery store style” experience where our clients are able to “shop online and pick-up food by appointment.” We offer a range of foods to choose from, all for free. By doing this, not only does The Pantry reduce food waste because our clients are taking the food they want every week, but we provide them with a 24/7 platform to order their food and pick it up at individually scheduled times. (Domestic Violence Advocacy) Families who are enrolled in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Temporary Assistance to Other Needy Families (more commonly known as “welfare”), are required to be engaged in activities that will ultimately lead them to self-sufficiency. Program recipients for whom issues of safety and domestic violence are interfering with their progress can call upon Domestic Violence Advocacy to help them find support to change their situations. Services include: assessment, service planning, counseling services, case management and linkage and referral.

Provides technical support to the Mayor's Office, Planning Commission and County Council regarding land use matters. Prepares long-range plans to guide county development. Provides information about community and regional planning processes.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, a gymnasium, outdoor tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, swimming pool, boxing gym, and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring, and summer. Activities are geared for all age, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music and dance, seasonal activities, excursions and swimming. (Easter Seals Hawaii Kauai Home and Community Based Services) Easterseals Hawaii provides individualized early intervention services to children under 3 with special needs and their families. Services include - Development of an Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP) by professionals who work with parents to meet their child’s developmental goals. Parent coaching and family support from occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, special educators and social workers. Developmental evaluations. Resources, information, and referral services. Assistance to families in transition planning for their child’s transition into appropriate settings, such as the Department of Education special education, Head Start or preschool. Treatment Focus Areas are Cognitive, Language and Communication, Physical, Development, Social and Emotional, Adaptive/Self Care. Family plays a key role in a child’s life. Program focuses on building a support team for the family and assisting them in meeting challenges presented by their child with special needs. The partnership between parents and professionals provides an opportunity for parent coaching and building a foundation of tools and strategies that parents need to support their child’s growth and participation in their community.

(PGC Farms in Kunia, Pacific Gateway Center Farms in Kunia) Pacific Gateway Center provides 176 acres of farmland which are leased to farmers. The farmers work with the Social Enterprises Program to build their businesses selling produce such as cucumbers, varieties of tomatoes, squash, and beans, eggplant, okra, Thai chili peppers, avocado, and bananas.
