(Hawaii Relief Program) Vibrant Hawaii is helping people to complete the Hawaii Relief Program applications. Eligible applicants may receive up to four months of financial assistance, including: -Up to 4 months of rent or mortgage (up to $6,000 per month) -One time security deposit (actual housing deposit amount up to the maximum of $6,000) -Up to 4 months of utility assistance ($2,000 per month per utility source) -One time Utility deposit (up to $3,000 per utility source). Utility payments may include electricity, gas, or water expense, or a combination of these utility sources. Water expense may include sewer service fees. Payments are made directly to landlords, mortgage lenders, or utility providers. By engaging directly with local agriculture, students build a stronger understanding of where food comes from and the importance of supporting Hawaii’s farmers.

(Aloha Diaper Pantry) The Aloha Diaper Bank supports newborns up to 3 years old who are facing poverty or family crises due to job loss or personal circumstances. Working in collaboration with various local agencies that serve low-income, homeless, and families in crisis, we provide essential diapers and wipes. Families are encouraged to register with one of the partner agencies to receive ongoing support and access other valuable services during challenging times. Additionally, the Aloha Diaper Bank offers a one-time emergency assistance package, including 75 diapers and 2 packs of baby wipes, to address immediate needs.

(PPP) Parent Participation Programs (PPP) meets twice a week at different communities around Oahu. The goal of PPP is to support parents as their child’s first teacher. Hawaiian values such as Aloha (love), Malama (Care), Kuleana (Responsibility) and Laulima (Many Hands) are some of the daily values practiced in class. Learning centers are set up to support hands-on learning and encourage parent/child interactions. Our hope is keiki will: Develop the skills, knowledge and experiences for life and learning; Develop a strong sense of self, ‘ohana and where they come from; Recognize and practice Hawaiian language and culture. (PACT) The Building Industry Association of Hawaii (BIA Hawaii) offers a Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training (PACT) program, funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) in partnership with Work Hawaii. This six-week program is free for qualifying individuals and is intended to prepare participants for entry-level employment in the construction field. The curriculum includes: OSHA 30 Certification; CPR/First Aid/AED and Bloodborne Pathogens; Introduction to carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical; Green building fundamentals; Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Certification; Disaster site safety (15-hour OSHA); Job readiness support, including resume preparation and interview coaching; A guided tour of an active construction site. Participants also earn nationally recognized credentials, including the Home Builders Institute (HBI) Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate, and leave the program prepared for roles such as laborer, carpenter, plumber, or electrician assistant with pathways toward advancement in the industry.

Lanakila Teaching and Learning Centers (TLC), a program of Lanakila Pacific, assists adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with mastering basic skills to expand their life experiences and foster a sense of independence. Focusing on each person’s individual needs, Adult Day Health programs located in Honolulu and Wahiawa offer in-house classes, community outings and recreational opportunities that can help participants build the confidence and skills needed to integrate into the community as well as engage in volunteer and pre-vocational activities. The Employment Exploration component enables participants to identify interests and explore potential integrated employment settings.
