Shelter of Wisdom rents homes which are shared by our men. Men live in double rooms with shared living areas and house chores. We provide intensive case management until our men are accepted into permanent housing. We provide household furnishings for their new homes, which are donated to us by the community. Men must maintain their sobriety, hygiene, medications, meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping and behavior.

(Hospice Hawaii) Navian Hawaii is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of professionals and trained volunteers who meet the physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families in the comfort of their own homes as well as in other settings like its Kailua Home, nursing homes and other facilities. The non-profit organization offers Integrated Care for those with serious but treatable illnesses, and Hospice Care for those near their journey’s end, providing assistance with pain management and symptom control. Navian Hawaii provides caregiver support, grief counseling, and complementary therapies including art, aroma, massage, healing touch, and reiki. Navian Hawaii has offices on Oahu, Molokai and Lanai and accepts referrals 24 hours, 7 days a week.

The ASYMCA of Honolulu,Wheeler Army AirField/Schofield Barracks , provides military families with activities that will help strengthen and encourage those who use the services. At this branch we offer Parent Participation Preschool, Kids in the Kitchen, a Food Pantry, and other activities geared to the young military family. Provides drop-in child care for military families when they have medical/doctor appointments, services are offered at Tripler and Schofield facilities.

(Kupu Culinary Social Enterprise, Kupu Grinds, Kupu Culinary, Hookupu Center Catering) The Kupu Culinary Program provides hands-on experience for participants to interact with the food and beverage industry through catering services, event handling, and operating the Kupu Food Truck. Whether supporting large-scale events at the Hookupu Center or preparing daily meals for the Kupu Community Program, Kupu provides participants with industry-aligned training that promotes youth empowerment, job readiness, and workforce development within Hawaii’s growing green economy. The Kupu Culinary Program has responded to disasters in the form of providing meals to those in need. (24 Resident Agencies, J Walter Cameron Center) The J Walter Cameron Center is home to 24 resident agencies that offer a diverse array of services to meet the needs of our community. These agencies collectively provide: -Health Services: medical and dental care, mental health support, substance abuse counseling, and wellness programs to promote overall health and well-being, offering preventive care, treatment, and ongoing support for individuals and families. -Educational Programs: Catering to all age groups, from early childhood education and after-school programs to adult education and vocational training. These programs enhance literacy, academic achievement, and job readiness. -Social Services: Helping with housing, food security, financial counseling, and emergency relief to provide critical support to individuals and families in crisis, ensuring they have access to basic needs and resources to improve their quality of life. -Immigration Services: legal assistance, citizenship classes, and advocacy for immigrants to help individuals navigate the immigration processes, promoting their integration and participation in the community. -Cultural Programs: Celebrating and preserving diverse cultural heritages through events, workshops, and community activities tofoster inclusivity, understanding, and cultural exchange, enriching the social fabric of our community. -Support for People with Disabilities: advocacy, skill development, and recreational activities to empower individuals with disabilities enhance independence, accessibility, and community involvement. -Youth and Family Services: Focusing on child welfare, parenting support, and family counseling to strengthen family bonds, ensure child safety, and promote healthy development and family dynamics. (Help Understanding and Group Support Respite Program) HUGS schedules respite services for enrolled HUGS member families who meet medical eligibility requirements. Volunteers are needed.

Offers a program consisting of an introductory talk, documentary film on the Pearl Harbor attack and a shuttle boat ride to the Memorial. Kokua Harvest is Hawaii Island’s food rescue project. We prevent food waste at its source, build community resilience and connection, and strengthen access to healthy, nutrient-dense fresh fruit and vegetables. We harvest and distribute excess produce to low-income communities throughout Hawaii Island. Through the act of rescuing and sharing food, we connect and nourish our community to build stronger relationships and a deeper appreciation for food. Food rescue (also known as “gleaning”) is the ancient tradition of collecting excess fresh food from farms, gardens, restaurants, or other sources and donating it to those in need. It is a successful model for reducing the waste of valuable produce, and it gives low-income individuals access to fresh and locally-grown foods that are not always available in their communities. Hawaii is fortunate to have a year-round growing season and a long cultural tradition of sharing and growing food. Still, every year thousands of pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables go to waste on farms large and small. Backyard fruit trees and excess garden produce also go unharvested. (SSVF) HOPE Services Hawaii Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) promotes housing stability among veterans’ families with very low income who reside in or are transitioning to permanent housing. The SSVF Program may be able to provide the following services as they relate to housing stability: Outreach services, case management services, assistance obtaining VA benefits, assistance obtaining other public benefits and needed services within the community, limited financial assistance that is necessary to stabilize housing, assistance with housing searches, financial planning as it relates to stabilizing housing, health care services, daily living services, transportation services, fiduciary and payee services, and legal services.
