Scholarships are given as a reimbursement for the tuition of college-level courses in early childhood education, for Professional and Career Education for Early Childhood (PACE) classes taken if converted to college credits, or for direct assessment fees in obtaining a Child Development Association (CDA) certificate. (Family Peace Center - Maui) Maui Family Peace Center teaches non-violent problem-solving skills for families struggling with adult aggression and behavioral dysfunction, emphasizing partnership, equality, and respect among families. Support for survivors/victims and child witnesses of domestic violence that includes individual and group counseling, case management, parental classes, community referrals and legal system advocacy. Support for offenders includes violence intervention groups. Adolescent services provided free of charge for those in need of effective problem solving skills to manage anger and/or those exhibiting violent behavior and anger control issues; anyone can refer themselves or a family member. Community education and training for schools, community groups, and agencies available.

Families who are accepted into our program can live at the National Home in a single family home for up to four years while working with a professional case worker to set goals and make plans for the future. (Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. (Jdrf International - Hawaii Chapter) Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Southern California and Hawaii Chapter provides an outreach program - adult to adult mentorship that runs by volunteers, provides educational materials and information about diabetes, strives to alert the general public about the seriousness of diabetes, raises money to fund diabetes research, and has an advocacy program where they visit senators, etc. regarding diabetes government funding, children gets to travel to Washington DC to meet senators, etc. and talk about diabetes.

COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT SERVICES We provide a wide array of comprehensive assessments that include the following types: DUI or OVUII, SAP, First Time Offender Assessments (Act 230/44), and SAA. We work with the Division of Drivers Education, The Judiciary - Adult Client Services, the Department of Transportation (DOT), and Employers to provide needed alcohol and substance abuse assessments for individuals who are required to obtain one for various reasons. KSS can provide interpreter services as needed. ?
