(Easter Seals Hawaii Kauai Home and Community Based Services) Easterseals Hawaii provides individualized early intervention services to children under 3 with special needs and their families. Services include - Development of an Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP) by professionals who work with parents to meet their child’s developmental goals. Parent coaching and family support from occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, special educators and social workers. Developmental evaluations. Resources, information, and referral services. Assistance to families in transition planning for their child’s transition into appropriate settings, such as the Department of Education special education, Head Start or preschool. Treatment Focus Areas are Cognitive, Language and Communication, Physical, Development, Social and Emotional, Adaptive/Self Care. Family plays a key role in a child’s life. Program focuses on building a support team for the family and assisting them in meeting challenges presented by their child with special needs. (Mana'olana Emergency Homeless Shelter) Provides emergency shelter for homeless individuals and families. Offers case management to help link residents to resources in the community to help stabilize them and begin to rebuild their lives. Mana’olana Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing is located adjacent the KEO office at 2808 Wehe Road, Lihue HI 96766. Also offers dinner meals, showers, sleeping and laundry facilities.

Our Brain Injury Program provides acute rehabilitation for patients who have sustained traumatic brain injury. We provide a comprehensive and individualized plan using an interdisciplinary team approach, working closely with patients and their families/caregivers to address specific needs and goals. Our patient-centered care model is focused on patients to maximize their potential. The REHAB staff also includes Certified Brain Injury Specialists (CBIS) who have the expertise and knowledge to work with special needs following a brain injury. We help patients schedule a follow-up appointment with their physicians in our Physicians Clinic so they can continue their rehabilitation therapy in our outpatient NeuroTrauma Recovery Program (NTRP). The NTRP is designed for patients recovering from a traumatic brain injury and provides comprehensive rehabilitation assessment and service for impairments in cognitive, psychosocial and physical abilities due to a traumatic brain injury. Caregivers and family members are provided with a three-hour Caregiver Education and Training (CET) prior to discharge, meeting with each member of the interdisciplinary care team to get hands-on training.

(SSVF) Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) provides outreach and case management service to improve housing stability by providing supportive services to eligible Veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing. Supportive Services include housing search assistance, landlord mediation, and temporary financial assistance. SSVF also provides information and referrals to assist participants with obtaining VA benefits and other public benefits, which may include health care services, personal financial planning services, and legal services.

Provides basic dental care for low income persons who are frail elderly or disabled who are Medicaid qualified (but not Medicare qualified).

Parents And Children Together helps families provide a safe home for their children with integrated services such as skill building, counseling, parenting classes, crisis intervention, and ohana time visits. Families are referred by Department of Human Services (DHS) Child Welfare Services, Voluntary Case Management, or Family Strengthening Services. Serves the Central area of Oahu

(ADAD) Plans, coordinates and implements statewide services relative to alcohol and drug abuse. Certifies substance abuse counselors and program administrators and accredits substance abuse programs. Agency does not provide direct services to the public but funds various private agencies.

(Kupu Culinary Social Enterprise, Kupu Grinds, Kupu Culinary, Hookupu Center Catering) The Kupu Culinary Program provides hands-on experience for participants to interact with the food and beverage industry through catering services, event handling, and operating the Kupu Food Truck. Whether supporting large-scale events at the Hookupu Center or preparing daily meals for the Kupu Community Program, Kupu provides participants with industry-aligned training that promotes youth empowerment, job readiness, and workforce development within Hawaii’s growing green economy. The Kupu Culinary Program has responded to disasters in the form of providing meals to those in need. In addition to technical culinary training, participants strengthen essential soft skills such as communication, time management, and teamwork, equipping them to transition successfully into long-term employment or further educational opportunities in the culinary or service industries.

(DVSF) The Domestic Violence Services for Families program provides counseling services for offenders, survivors and their children who have been referred by DHS programs. Services are provided primarily through group and individual counseling. Serves the Windward and Central area of Oahu. Groups area available after hours in the evening.

The Lyon Arboretum is a 193.5 acre botanical garden operated by the University of Hawaii. Offers tours, classes and workshops. The Arboretum's Micropropagation Lab and Seed Storage Lab both work to save Hawaii's rare and endangered plants. The Arboretum's Ethnobotanical and Hawaiian gardens are amongst the state's largest collection of cultural and native plants and help to maintain the cultural and natural heritage of Hawaii. Volunteers are needed for public tours, school tours, garden maintenance, trail maintenance, in the labs and visitor's center.
