(Hawaii Homeownership Center - Honolulu Office) The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center's (HHOC) lifetime membership prepares buyers for the home purchase through classes and individual coaching. Classes address the general concepts about preparing for homeownership and the buying process; individual coaching provides support to identify buyer resources and create an action plan to become mortgage ready. Support after our members become homeowners is available through workshops and confidential meetings.

(Act 202) Mediation Services of Maui provides trained volunteer mediators to act as impartial third parties who guide participants in conflict toward settlement on past due rent.

(US VETS Wai'anae, Waianae Civic Center - Pai'olu Kai'aulu - Veterans' Shelter) Provides shelter for homeless families and individuals.

Provides food service to needy children. Supplies breakfast/lunch to many area schools. Feeds people through the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program.

(Temporary Disability Insurance, TDI) Enforces labor laws relating to workers compensation (wage replacement benefits, indemnity benefits, vocational rehabilitation services, and medical and/or hospital care for work-related illness or injury), temporary disability insurance (wage replacement benefits for non-work-related illness or injury), and prepaid health care (medical and/or hospital care for non-work-related illness or injury).

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

The Private Sector Hawaii serves the North Shore of Oahu only: Mokuleia, Waialua, Haleiwa, Sunset Beach, Kahuku. Food boxes are delivered after an individual calls and requests a box. A recipient must call every time they need a food box. Our goal is to deliver the box within a week of a call, though we have been behind due to increased requests. Recipients can expect to receive one food box a month. This is an all volunteer charity and we deliver food boxes as volunteers are available. If someone has an emergency need for food, we will get a box to them immediately. No on site distribution.

(Emergency Food Pantry) Eleele Baptist Church distributes bags of food to those that are in need on a first come, first served basis. You must call first and leave a clear message with a name and a call back phone number for emergency food. (Touch a Heart) We transform the lives of those facing barriers to employment by providing vocational training in a healing and nurturing environment, creating pathways to job placement. We partner with other nonprofit organizations that have underutilized commercial kitchens to create a food services training and apprenticeship program. These kitchens serve as our vocational training work sites and is also where we operate our social enterprises. For multi-family units, items should be placed in common pick-up locations. Contact your resident or property manager to identify these locations. Only one appointment per address can be made per month except for Waikiki, where residents can make weekly appointments. Description and quantity of items is required. Only items scheduled for pick up will be collected. Single family homes are able to dispose of up to five (5) bulky waste items and two (2) metal appliances per separate appliance appointment. Each individual unit in multi-unit residential buildings are able to schedule up to five (5) bulky waste items for disposal and two (2) metal appliances per separate appliance appointment. AOAOs and property/resident managers may choose to schedule up to twenty (20) bulky items per collection and eight (8) metal appliances per separate metal appointment.
