(VASH, Travelers Aid of Honolulu) The mission of Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) is to share Aloha with visitors who have been victims of a crime or other adversities, and to provide follow-up assistance and support in an effort to create a positive memory of their stay in our islands. The type of assistance provided varies on a case by case basis. Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii offers assistance and support through information and referrals, emergency ground transportation, and resources for meals and lodging. Assistance is also provided with changes to travel plans and for emotional support. We do not pay for airline tickets, hotel stays, medical or dental expenses, and funeral expenses.

(Hawaii Homeless Healthcare Hui, H4) Provides healthcare for those that are homeless. Provides transitional and permanent housing. Provides respite care. *Services agency would provide in event of a disaster - Unscheduled healthcare services for the underserved population.

Provides general medical care, coordination of specialty services and preventive medicine. Provides care in dermatology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, rheumatology and physical therapy. Also provides flu and pneumonia vaccines.

Hawaii District Health Offices (DHO) serves the community with proficiencies in emergency preparedness, family health services, public health nursing, services for the developmentally delayed, environmental health services which includes vector control, clean air, clean water, and sanitation programs, vital statistics (births, marriages, deaths), and mental health services. Provides temporary assistance and information for residents of the Island of Hawaii who have tested positive for COVID-19 and cannot safely self-quarantine or self-isolate at home. Maintains a national information center for those affected by anxiety disorders, including Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social anxiety Disorder, and specific phobias. Provides referrals to local treatment providers and local support groups, and provides information on these and related disorders. Publishes an E-Newsletter, Triumph, and detailed pamphlets. Promotes public awareness and education with media campaigns and events. Sponsors an annual conference to encourage researchers in the field of anxiety disorders to share their findings, and funds research.

(SSVF) Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) provides outreach and case management service to improve housing stability by providing supportive services to eligible Veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing. Supportive Services include housing search assistance, landlord mediation, and temporary financial assistance. SSVF also provides information and referrals to assist participants with obtaining VA benefits and other public benefits, which may include health care services, personal financial planning services, and legal services.

Represents utility and transportation consumer interests at the Public Utilities Commission and federal agencies. Does not handle individual complaints against utilities or transportation companies (those are handled by the Public Utilities Commission which is administratively attached to the state Department of Budget and Finance). The division assists and represents customers of utility services as a whole rather than a single customer or select group of people.

Na Kia i O Maui provides household goods, furniture, daily essentials, and nonperishable food to fire survivors of Lahaina and Upcountry Maui and March 2026 Kona Low flood survivors. Volunteers needed to make the muck and cleaning kits.

(Hele-On Ka Hoʻokele) Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council's (HCEOC) Transportation Program offers Hawaii Island residents who are elderly, low-income, or disabled access to essential sites such as medical facilities, nutrition sites, shopping centers, banks, post offices, government buildings, and places of employment. Services are based on availability, service areas and road conditions.

(SFMNP, Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program) The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in collaboration with our transportation department, provides seniors transportation and vouchers to farmer’s markets across the island in an effort to increase community access to fresh, local food. (Primary Prevention Education, Prevention of Sexual Abuse) Molokai Child Abuse Prevention Pathways educators are available to provide workshops on recognizing and preventing sexual violence for children, pre-K thru 12th grade, parents/caregivers, camp leaders, clergy, and school faculty. Training for mandatory reporting requirements also provided on how to respond and support sexual violence survivors.

Registers land title ownership. Records and maintains instruments dealing with land transactions, contracts, Uniform Commercial Code filings. Maintains land title deeds, mortgages, leases and maps.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. The National Safe Haven Alliance (NSHA) is a national non-profit organization that promotes safe alternatives for parents in crisis pregnancy situations in every state. The 24 hour crisis help and text line provides support and direction for parents and providers regarding the Safe Haven law, including Safe Surrender locations, adoption resources and parenting support. The National Safe Haven Alliance also can provide direct resources to assist and prevent infant abandonment. The Crisis Hotline is staffed 24 Hours by social workers, nurses, and paramedics that have received comprehensive training and are able to support and assist parents and providers. The number is a helpline and text line.
