(MDA Summer Camp) Each summer, kids and young adults with neuromuscular disease attend overnight camps around the United States at no cost to their families. Note: Currently there are no in-person camps in Hawaii. Please see the web site for virtual camp options. Campers may also apply to attend a camp in another location of the nation.

We are a self-help program. 24 hour help line for anyone seeking support for their alcohol use. We will assist with coordination of 12 step work (where one person who has arrested their drinking problem will work with someone who has a desire to stop drinking alcohol). We provide information about the over 300 local AA meetings on Oahu. Volunteers who answer the phones may share experiences with alcoholism and recovery with callers to provide support and encouragement.

(Kula) --Referrals through the Hawaii CARES line-- Community Empowerment Resources’ Maui Crisis Stabilization Center is an around-the-clock crisis stabilization facility designed for individuals experiencing emotional, behavioral, or psychological crises. Our primary goal is to effectively resolve the crisis and help clients regain stability. We offer a secure and therapeutic environment for adults aged 18 years old or older, providing support for up to 14 days.

Hawaii Alliance for Community-Based Economic Development (HACBED) plays the role of facilitator, catalyst, community builder and broker as asked by the communities we serve. We also act as a producer of training, technical assistance, advocacy, education, as well as research and development (R and D) related products and services. HACBED has developed a body of information, experience, and expertise to support the field of community-based economic development and asset building in Hawaii through its focus on Community and Organizational Capacity Building; Community Based Planning; and Family and Community Asset Building for Self-Sufficiency.

Hawaii State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (HSCADV) is a coalition of organizations that serve survivors of domestic violence and their families. We provide education and training on domestic violence to service providers, community partners, and businesses, and develop resource for advocates and the community. We engage in public policy to improve survivor safety. We do not provide domestic violence services directly, but make referrals to appropriate agencies.

Provides recorded messages regarding recycling programs available on all islands. Refers callers to various recycling groups, sites and programs. Coordinates Hawaii Materials Exchange which allows companies and individuals to list unwanted or extra materials and supplies that they will donate or trade. Maintains lists of needed materials and supplies. Offers weekly hot supper at Kealakehe Intermediate School for anyone who needs a hot meal. Run by volunteers preparing and serving donated food and food purchased with donated funds. (Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden) Cultivates and displays rare and unusual plants. Holds guided hikes, garden walks, special programs on Hawaiian plant use, and composting. Provides visitor services at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. Also provides free marine education programs for groups visiting the Bay. Offers free event (alternating film and lecture series focused on marine issues of interest to the community) every Thursday evening at Hanauma Bay.

Assists with health insurance application, housing assistance, interpretation services, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families and transportation assistance: We can assist the patient in calling the Handi Van when they are here. We can help them to apply for bus passes or other financial assistance. We also provide taxi vouchers to and from the hospital or the specialist as necessary.
