The American Diabetes Association (ADA) provides trusted resources such as the annually updated Standards of Care in Diabetes, advances research and education through initiatives like Scientific Sessions, and supports youth and families through programs like Camp He Ola Ke Keiki and the upcoming Project Power Youth. We also advocate for safe and inclusive schools through the Safe at School program, engage the public through events such as the Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes and the State of Diabetes Hawaii. (SFMNP, Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program) The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in collaboration with our transportation department, provides seniors transportation and vouchers to farmer’s markets across the island in an effort to increase community access to fresh, local food. It performs many of the functions delineated in the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations and relevant international treatises in which FSM is a member, and carries out any instructions from the home government as permissible under state and local laws of the State of Hawaii. A major component of the Consulate General's work has to do with attending to the required documentations of citizens such as facilitating processing of passports, travel documents, affidavits, guardianship and power of attorney documents, among others. The Consulate General does not issue passports.

Establishes and implements vocational rehabilitation programs for Maui residents who have disabilities or who are economically disadvantaged. Provides diagnostic evaluation, training, community placement and other rehabilitation to improve and maximize their living standard.

The Lyon Arboretum is a 193.5 acre botanical garden operated by the University of Hawaii. Offers tours, classes and workshops. The Arboretum's Micropropagation Lab and Seed Storage Lab both work to save Hawaii's rare and endangered plants. The Arboretum's Ethnobotanical and Hawaiian gardens are amongst the state's largest collection of cultural and native plants and help to maintain the cultural and natural heritage of Hawaii. Volunteers are needed for public tours, school tours, garden maintenance, trail maintenance, in the labs and visitor's center.

Emphasis is placed on individual choice, allowing adults to pursue opportunities that match their interests and skills while promoting their dignity and independence. The program provides daily respite for individual and family caregivers as well as provides participants with educational, social, health and recreational opportunities. ADH participants have a full-range of activities to choose from including: the option to go on daily excursions, enjoy art programs, volunteer in the community, attend computer classes with the aid of assistive technology, learn money skills, participate in weekly hula classes or give back to the community through recycling programs.
