Hina Mauka objective is provide a comprehensive services delivery system of residential, day treatment and aftercare levels of care. Hina Mauka’s objective is to provide a separate track for co-occurring disorders consumers deemed appropriate. Another objective is to provide a longer term treatment perspective that incorporates the stages of change research to “meet the consumer where they are”. Cognitive restructuring techniques; motivational enhancement interventions and motivational interviewing techniques; relapse prevention; and other services are designed to help the consumer foster independence, connect to community-based services, and participate in support activities to increase stability. Hina Mauka’s objective is to provide a specifically designed curriculum with skill building and process groups that are designed to facilitate a change in thought processes, attitudes, values and behaviors that promotes a greater degree of personal responsibility.

(EBT) The Hawaii Electronic Benefit Transfer (HI/EBT) system processes the payments for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF), General Assistance (GA), Aid to the Aged, Blind or Disabled (AABD), Repatriates, Childcare, Employment and Training (E & T), First-To-Work (FTW) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) programs. EBT account information online access https://www.ebtEDGE.com Call Fidelity Information Service customer for account balance, to report lost, stolen or damaged cards, to change the PIN, or if there are any questions or problems with the EBT account. Monthly benefits are available to eligible households based on the first letter of the clients’ last name. Clients whose last names begin with the letters A-I are available on the 3rd calendar day of each month, while clients with last names beginning with the letters J-Z are available on the 5th calendar day. Households receiving their cash benefits directed to their personal account will have their cash benefits available on the 3rd banking day of each month. The SNAP benefits for these households are available on the 1st calendar day of each month.

The Department of Human Services (DHS) has received reports of fraudulent transactions statewide, but the reports are largely concentrated on the island of Oahu in the urban Honolulu area. What should I do if I suspect a fraudulent transaction has occurred with my EBT card? -DHS encourages all Financial or SNAP clients to be proactive and check their EBT account for unusual transactions. -Please visit the DHS Processing Center (PC) nearest to you to report any fraudulent transaction and to request a replacement card. You may block these types of purchase when you are not traveling out of state or not shopping online. -Beware of Phishing schemes. State agencies and EBT processors will never call or text you to ask for your PIN or card number. Be cautious when you receive these requests and do not share your personal information. Provides escort service to medical appointments and other related services. Offers friendly visiting, telephone reassurance and referrals to other community agencies.

The Kauai Independent Food Bank (KIFB) makes referrals for food to the public (individuals needing food). Referrals are made to the 50 distribution sites throughout Kauai and specifically non-profit member agencies and churches on Kauai. The KICB Food pantry on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Call for emergency food on days without a food pantry. Please bring a reusable bag and and ID if possible.
