The Private Sector Hawaii serves the North Shore of Oahu only: Mokuleia, Waialua, Haleiwa, Sunset Beach, Kahuku. Food boxes are delivered after an individual calls and requests a box. A recipient must call every time they need a food box. Our goal is to deliver the box within a week of a call, though we have been behind due to increased requests. Recipients can expect to receive one food box a month. This is an all volunteer charity and we deliver food boxes as volunteers are available. If someone has an emergency need for food, we will get a box to them immediately. No on site distribution.

Operates an adult day health program which provides therapeutic services and treatments including nursing care, recreational therapy and social services. Designed for persons at risk for long term care placement. Accepts volunteers 16 years old or older, to assist in transporting residents, general office duties, music leaders, craft assistants, active games, religious services, pet therapy, ethnic groups, sewing craft projects, etc.

Investigates complaints by members of the public about specific actions of executive agencies of the state and county governments. Determines whether a complaint is justified by comparing an agency's actions against what the law requires as well as the principles of sound, fair, and reasonable administrative practice. Has no enforcement powers but tries to resolve justified complaints through recommendations and reasoned persuasion. By law, elected officials, courts, the federal government, and private entities are excluded from the Ombudsman's jurisdiction.

Provides consultation to employers and training to employers and employees to encourage voluntary compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Law standards and rules. Inspects boilers, pressure systems, amusement rides, elevators and similar equipment.

(HCAP Administration) Honolulu Community Action Program, Inc. (HCAP) offers a variety of programs and services designed to help Oahu's low-income individuals and families to achieve self-reliance. Programs include Head Start, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), food assistance, employment services, after-school STEM, and individualized case management. HCAP also promotes community development and advocacy through resident advisory councils and private-public volunteer opportunities.
