Program matches volunteers (some of whom may be home-bound themselves) with home-bound participants. The calls provide an opportunity for social engagement; as well as status updates. The volunteer checks in via telephone daily, weekly, or monthly (as scheduled); providing medication reminders and wellness checks.

We provide in-home care services which include companionship, light housekeeping, cooking, supervision, Activities of Daily Living; including bathing, toileting, transfer assistance, dressing, feeding, and grooming, and various other duties as determined by the assessment. Kokua Care Foundation Charitable Care Services (KCFCCS) provides these care services at no charge to qualified individuals, and at-cost services for individuals who are unable to qualify for the program, but have shown the need for service. These services are provided by Kokua Care.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music and seasonal activities, crafts, and excursions. Provides care for youth in a therapeutic family home with highly trained, Master's level supervised, carefully supported Professional Parents. Youth develop their strengths and skills, cope with trauma, and work toward their behavioral health goals. Common Grace facilitates partnerships between public elementary schools and nearby neighborhood churches in order to provide mentors for at-risk children. Volunteers goes through our basic training seminar that we have through out the school year. We look for mentors that have willing and loving hearts ready to be a friend to the kids at the local elementary school.

The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has made the elimination of homelessness among veterans a top priority. VA's "no wrong door" philosophy will ensure homeless Veterans and Veterans at risk of homelessness will have timely access to appropriate programs and services. Informing the public about the availability of assistance for Veterans is essential to the success of this initiative. Provides part-time volunteer work with stipend for low income senior citizens to work with special or exceptional needs persons at institutions, schools, day care centers, etc. Duties may involve reading, literacy activities, tutoring. Volunteers receive a stipend.

Program, Pet Lost and Found Services, low cost vaccination clinics, pet food bank, Assistance with Neighborhood Animal Issues by educating animal owners about their responsibilities caring for a pet and investigating animal law violations, Pet Adoptions, Emergency Sheltering Services for pets, Pet Boarding Services and quarantine boarding services for new residents moving to the island, Animal Rescues and Cruelty Investigations, Pet Support Services, Pet Loss Grief Counseling and Cremation Services, Foster Care, Humane Education, Volunteer Program, Hawaii Dept. of Agriculture approved Direct Release Program for animals arriving from the mainland at Lihue Airport, Save Our Shearwaters rescue and rehab of endangered seabirds. (Emergency and Transitional Housing Programs) HOPE emergency shelter programs provide shelter for families and individuals that are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Services include intake/assessment, case management, referrals/linkages to community resources, access to bed space, storage, meals, laundry, food pantry and clothing bank. On-site life skills classes also provided. Referrals by County's Coordinated Entry System (CES) only.

Issues camping and use permits for state parks system. Plans, acquires, develops and maintains state park lands. (Lanakila Meals on Wheels) Lanakila Meals on Wheels is Oahu's largest and only island-wide home delivery meal service program for seniors and people with disabilities, serving over approximately 200,000 meals each year. Provides frozen meals once a week delivered right to your front door. Someone must be home to accept deliveries usually Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 1:00 pm. Please inquire about fresh produce home delivery. You may be eligible through the City and County Aging and Disability Resource Center or your health insurance provider for free meal service. Private pay via credit/debit card, online pay, check or SNAP EBT card available.
