Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building two ball fields, play apparatus, tennis courts. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. (MRTP, Maui Relief TANF Program) The Maui Relief Program is separate from the ongoing TANF cash assistance benefit and has a different application process, eligibility criteria and requirements. The Maui Relief Program is a program that provides benefits to eligible families with dependent children who were directly impacted by the wildfires. The program benefits are not intended to meet a family’s recurring needs and will not extend beyond four (4) months. Survivors are strongly encouraged to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance prior to applying for support through the Maui Relief TANF Program. DHS wants to ensure families maximize available disaster relief efforts. The Program benefits are considered “non-assistance”; therefore, is independent of the DHS’s TANF cash assistance program. The Program benefits are being established solely to address the specific crisis situation and episode of need for families who were directly affected by the wildfire disaster. The Program benefits will be issued as a disaster relief in the form of a lump-sum payment to the family or a direct payment to a vendor such as a landlord, automobile dealership, or a utility company. The Program will help families, with household incomes that do not exceed 350% of the federal poverty level: -secure and pay for short-and long-term housing -make a down payment and pay for a car payment for up to 4 months -secure and pay for utilities for up to 4 months -purchase clothing for eligible family members and school supplies for school-aged children. A family may apply for Maui Relief TANF support based on their current needs and apply later for other remaining support available to the family. This support may be provided in addition to FEMA Individual Assistance if a family has exhausted its FEMA assistance and critical needs still exists. There is no citizenship requirement. Non-federal funds may be available to assist families with dependent children who are not eligible for the federally-funded Program. Applicants will be provided ten (10) days from the date of the request to provide additional information and supporting documents. Applicants must report changes within 10 days of the change occurring. For example, if the support was for a car and the car was sold, then that change must be reported within 10 days.

(MEO) Works with people who have bad credit, no credit, low-income, and no measurable assets to provide assistance and guidance in the loan application process through loan approval from our Internal and External Loan Committees. Small business loans range from $500 to $10,000 to be used for startup operations or the expansion of an existing small business. Step loans are available after six months of on-time payments. A borrower can seek an additional $25,000 for expansion. Emergency loans ranging from $200 to $2000 are also available.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. Wilson Homecare is a state-licensed home health agency providing personal care to skilled nursing from 3 hours per shift, once a week, to daily 24 hours care at the clients home. Care assessment will be made by Nurse Care Coordinator to build the appropriate care plans which can be assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs - bathing, dressing, toileting), running errands, visits to the doctor, medication management, meal prep, or light housekeeping. We also offer skilled nursing in home which can included medication management, wound care, vent care, up to life support.

Youth learn and practice Hawaiian and other arts, cultural traditions, protocols and values taught by kupuna and experienced while hiking, paddling canoe, celebrating their history and restoring the environment. Youth document their learning with digital and other media, including public art installations that honor and perpetuate our culture.

Serves the low-income, underprivileged, disabled and the elderly by designing, administering and mobilizing programs and resources so that the underprivileged may gain confidence, knowledge and independence. Operates multi-programs under departments: Mediation, Group Homes, Elderly and Nutrition Services, and Homeless and Health services. Uses volunteers extensively in the elderly program. Also administers one time grants for persons in need.

(Health and Fitness Classes) We provide day camps, Girls in Sports, winter camp, open gym for basketball and volleyball, swim classes for youth and adults, cultural activities, recreational activities, host special events and family camping.

Supports fishing throughout the state. Promotes ecology and conservation, education.

(Crisis Mobile Outreach) Professional counselors on call to help youth who are in psychiatric crisis or to supplement the efforts of their caregivers. Counselors can refer clients to specialized, short-term, out-of-home placement when needed. Provides face to face assessment of a crisis situation and arrange appropriate course of action for adolescents.

(Return to Home) Help pays for half of the air fare.
