(24 Resident Agencies, J Walter Cameron Center) The J Walter Cameron Center is home to 24 resident agencies that offer a diverse array of services to meet the needs of our community. These agencies collectively provide: -Health Services: medical and dental care, mental health support, substance abuse counseling, and wellness programs to promote overall health and well-being, offering preventive care, treatment, and ongoing support for individuals and families. -Educational Programs: Catering to all age groups, from early childhood education and after-school programs to adult education and vocational training. These programs enhance literacy, academic achievement, and job readiness. -Social Services: Helping with housing, food security, financial counseling, and emergency relief to provide critical support to individuals and families in crisis, ensuring they have access to basic needs and resources to improve their quality of life. -Immigration Services: legal assistance, citizenship classes, and advocacy for immigrants to help individuals navigate the immigration processes, promoting their integration and participation in the community. -Cultural Programs: Celebrating and preserving diverse cultural heritages through events, workshops, and community activities tofoster inclusivity, understanding, and cultural exchange, enriching the social fabric of our community. -Support for People with Disabilities: advocacy, skill development, and recreational activities to empower individuals with disabilities enhance independence, accessibility, and community involvement. -Youth and Family Services: Focusing on child welfare, parenting support, and family counseling to strengthen family bonds, ensure child safety, and promote healthy development and family dynamics. (KHS) Until February 2024, a Grant-in-Aid program from the State of Hawaii keeps the cost of the spay and neuter services to $35 per animal and includes a microchip if the animal needs one. Surgery must be paid for in advance and is Non-Refundable. Funding assistance for qualified individuals may be available through our Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP). Please see your regular vet prior to scheduling surgery if you have any health concerns. Kauai Humane Society reserves the right to deny surgery to any animal. Dogs must arrive on a leash. (Hale O Ulu) Youth ages 6 years old - 23 years old who are a part of or are eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) are offered individual learning plans that help them to recapture school credits, and assist them in understanding their learning styles and challenges. Students and their families are offered counseling and other social services. This helps the student to address more than just their educational issues and have the support to be successful as they continue their education. Provides alternative secondary school for high risk or alienated youths, grades 7th to 12th, who have difficulty adjusting in a traditional school. Academic and clinical counseling are integrated. Goal is to return students to regular school.

(H2H, Hele2Work, Hele to Work) The staff of the Hele2Work Employment Program at the Institute for Human Services (IHS) provide job readiness and post employment follow up services, as well as job search assistance along with referrals to job training classes and vocational training programs when available for those who qualify to participate in them. All Hele2Work services are free to those in need who are homeless, or who are at-risk of becoming homeless if employment is not secured quickly.

(American Cancer Society Cancer Survivors Network, American Cancer Society I Can Cope Class, American Cancer Society Look Good Feel Better, American Cancer Society Look Good/Feel Better, American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery) Reach To Recovery: Trained volunteers who are breast cancer survivors provide emotional and educational support for women who are facing or have had breast cancer surgery. Cancer Survivors Network: Online community created for survivors and caregivers to connect with others, visit www.cancer.org Gift Items: A limited supply of wigs, hats, turbans, scarves and breast prostheses are available by appointment. These items are received by the local offices by donations from others and through our TLC Catalog. Support Groups: The office is a clearinghouse of information on local self-help and support groups that provide emotional and educational help. Patients and caregivers also are invited to visit the Cancer Survivors' Network at www.cancer.org . Relay For Life: You are invited to attend Relay For Life, our annual event to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and give everyone the opportunity to fight back against cancer. Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii (VLSH) is the only organization in the state whose sole mission is to serve people in Hawaii with low to moderate income community through volunteer attorneys. Volunteer Legal’s pool of pro bono attorneys provide legal services in a wide range of civil matters, including divorces, paternities, custodies, child support, guardianships, adoptions, powers of attorney, wills, healthcare directives, landlord-tenant cases, collections, and Chapter 7 bankruptcies. Neighborhood Advice and Counsel clinics are being held in-person and via telephone. Clients are responsible for all legal deadlines associated with their case. We experience a high volume of calls. The Patsy T. Mink Center for Business & Leadership (MCBL) was established by YWCA O‘ahu, the U.S. Small Business Administration and a community of partners to become the only Women’s Business Center (WBC) in Hawai‘i. WBCs are designed to assist women in starting and growing small businesses, and seek to “level the playing field” for women entrepreneurs who still face unique obstacles in the business world. MCBL is named in honor of Patsy T. Mink for her dedication to helping women through legislative reforms. She was a transformative leader and a national voice for gender equality, education, peace, and so much more. MCBL's mission is to equip women to become successful entrepreneurs and leaders by providing one-on-one business counseling, innovative workshops and unique, specialized programs in a nurturing environment.

Provides temporary part-time employment and on-the-job training opportunities for Hawaii Island seniors 55 years of age or older who meet all program eligibility requirements. Services include job counseling/development, information and referral, and job placement in community service-oriented host agencies, which provide senior enrollees with current work experience, references, and new skills. Designed to assist the senior enrollees to make the transition from federally subsidized jobs back into the main workforce.

(Society for Konas Education and Art) Offers Kona schools a "menu" of art (performing, literary & visual) activities for teachers. Works with the teachers to expand upon curriculum themes. Sponsors a youth group to advise on youth programs. Offers art workshops for adults & children and special events such as concerts and ho'olaulea. Art Camps for Children and Magic Camp during the October school break.
