Village Harvest is a volunteer-based Kauai gleaning program that harvests and donates produce to those in need. We strive to bridge the gap between food waste and food insecurity by utilizing food left over from harvests on personal properties and farms. The produce gleaned is donated to food pantries, youth programs, and home deliveries for homebound and houseless. We also distribute and install food trees throughout the community to increase direct access to produce into the future, contributing to long-term food security.

Inspects boilers, pressure systems, amusement rides, elevators and similar equipment.

(PATCH POD Program) The Preschool Open Doors (POD) program provides families with low and moderate incomes subsidies to send their children to preschool for up to two years prior to entering kindergarten.

Provides confidential HIV (AIDS) testing and counseling.

Supports children who have been physically or sexually abused, or severely neglected. Funding is provided through foundation grants and private/business donations. The "Enhancements" include such needs as medical, dental, glasses, travel, sports fees, school graduation packages, classes in hula, ukulele, karate, as well as summer school or correspondence school courses, therapy and counseling, air fare so youth can participate in inter-island cultural and sports events, and orthodontia (braces). (Worklife Hawaii, CFS EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM) Companies contract with WorkLife Hawai‘i for their employees to receive confidential professional counseling, education, training, crisis management, and substance abuse assessment. Companies also receive management consultation on personnel and organizational issues. Helps employees and their families covered under employee assistance contracts for problems such as stress, family conflict, financial difficulty, or drug and alcohol abuse.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. Also provides a therapeutic program for the visually impaired and care home providers. The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered untimely, and DUA benefits may be denied unless the individual provides good cause for late filing.-- Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available for eligible unemployed employees, self-employed individuals, farmers, and fishermen engaged in business at the time of the disaster. Eligibility for DUA benefits is determined on a week-to-week basis for each week a claim is filed. (DHHL Kupuna Rental Subsidy Program, Kupuna Rental Subsidy Program) The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL) and the Hawaiian Council program to help eligible kupuna on the DHHL waitlist pay rent. Renters pay up to 30% of their total household income towards rent and the program may help with the remaining cost.
