Our skilled teams remove structures by hand for the purpose of recovering the material for reuse. The recovered material is made available at our Redistribution Center, which provides these materials to the community as an affordable building material resource.

(TANF, Emergency Assistance Program - Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) The Emergency Assistance Program provides individuals with families who are homeless or at-risk of being homeless with emergency financial assistance. The program may provide one-time support for first month’s rent, past-due rent/mortgage and utility bills, and utility deposits for electric, water, and gas.

(Ready To Learn Program, RTL, R2L Program, Ready 2 Learn Program) Ready to Learn (RTL) is a statewide initiative that provides students in need from kindergarten through high school with a backpack filled with new pencils, pens, notebooks and other school supplies with an intended outcome of school readiness. Assistance is provided year round, but the primary period is the summer before each new school year. Application period for school supplies is from March-May, and the distribution of school supplies is in July. If you miss the application period, call the Community Clearinghouse at the number listed at the end of July to see if there are any school supplies left after the primary distribution is done.

The Relocation Program provides services to inbound and outbound soldiers and family members about resources that are needed to make informed decisions and to reduce problems that occur due to frequent moves. Services include relocation planning, pre-arrival information, welcome packet, newcomer's orientation, island tour and immigration informational workshops. (Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii) Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii (VLSH) is the only organization in the state whose sole mission is to serve people in Hawaii with low to moderate income community through volunteer attorneys. Volunteer Legal’s pool of pro bono attorneys provide legal services in a wide range of civil matters, including divorces, paternities, custodies, child support, guardianships, adoptions, powers of attorney, wills, healthcare directives, landlord-tenant cases, collections, and Chapter 7 bankruptcies. Neighborhood Advice and Counsel clinics are being held in-person and via telephone. Clients are responsible for all legal deadlines associated with their case. We experience a high volume of calls. (Community-Based Mentoring Program) Case Managers at Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii work with parents, guardians, therapists, counselors, schools, and youth serving organizations to identify and pair under-resourced youth from ages 6 years old and older with one-on-one mentors. Case Managers create an outcome development plan in collaboration with the parent/guardian, child and volunteer. Plans are updated yearly. Youth and their mentors meet 2-3 times per month for a few hours each outing. Outings are selected by the youth. Mentors pick-up their mentees and are responsible for transportation and other costs they incur. Some of the costs are offset by sponsored activities and discounts at partnering companies.

(Ronald T.Y. Moon Kapolei Courthouse Access to Justice Room) Volunteer attorneys provide limited legal advice to unrepresented litigants involved in a civil case in the Family Court.

(Womens Community Correctional Center) Provides correctional care and custody of convicted, pretrial female felons, and misdemeanants committed by the Courts to serve sentences. Provides services to prisoners to develop socially acceptable behaviors, vocational skills and work habits.

(RMHC Hawaii) Provides a home away from home for families of seriously or critically ill children receiving medical treatment in Honolulu hospitals. Provides affordable housing in an environment where families receive the support from the staff and other parents of seriously ill children.

Provides free and professional support services including counseling, support groups, educational workshops, publications and financial assistance to anyone affected by cancer. All CancerCare services are provided by oncology social workers and world-leading cancer experts.
