Eligibility

US citizen or lawfully admitted immigrant (excludes COFA citizens) and have dependent children (birth - 23 years old) living with primary applicant with an unexpected and verifiable emergency situation has occurred that was beyond the household’s control. Examples of an emergency situation include (but are not limited to) layoffs from employment, being sick and missing work for a long duration of time, death in the family of an income-earner or medical emergencies/serious health complications.

(TANF, Emergency Assistance Program - Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) The Emergency Assistance Program provides individuals with families who are homeless or at-risk of being homeless with emergency financial assistance. The program may provide one-time support for first month’s rent, past-due rent/mortgage and utility bills, and utility deposits for electric, water, and gas.
