Our Brain Injury Program provides acute rehabilitation for patients who have sustained traumatic brain injury. We provide a comprehensive and individualized plan using an interdisciplinary team approach, working closely with patients and their families/caregivers to address specific needs and goals. Our patient-centered care model is focused on patients to maximize their potential. The REHAB staff also includes Certified Brain Injury Specialists (CBIS) who have the expertise and knowledge to work with special needs following a brain injury. We help patients schedule a follow-up appointment with their physicians in our Physicians Clinic so they can continue their rehabilitation therapy in our outpatient NeuroTrauma Recovery Program (NTRP). The NTRP is designed for patients recovering from a traumatic brain injury and provides comprehensive rehabilitation assessment and service for impairments in cognitive, psychosocial and physical abilities due to a traumatic brain injury. Caregivers and family members are provided with a three-hour Caregiver Education and Training (CET) prior to discharge, meeting with each member of the interdisciplinary care team to get hands-on training.

The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. A paper copy of the application can be downloaded, printed, signed and submitted via US postal mail or dropped off in the drop box. Transitional Apartment Program (TAP) provides housing for victims who need safety and support and are ready to go to school/work. Program participants learn dynamics of domestic violence, develop safety plan, improve self-esteem and learn healthy parenting skills. Children develop safety plans and learn they’re not responsible for domestic violence. Length of stay varies depending on individual needs and up to 24 months at the Transitional Apartments.

(BEST, MEO BEST) Serves presently and formerly incarcerated men and women to make a successful transition from prison back to the Maui community. The primary goal is to provide supportive services so that individuals do not return to incarceration. Employment assistance, job training assistance, housing placement assistance, mentor matching, cultural activities, and family reunification services are provided.

Three meals per day are prepared at our Sumner Men’s Shelter and served across our 10-shelter network. Help prepare and serve meals at the men’s shelter. This volunteer position is great for individuals or groups, as each shift accommodates up to 5 volunteers. Shifts are available 3 meals per day, 7 days per week.

Perinatal support services provides case management services to women who receive their prenatal care at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center (WCCHC) from the time they enter prenatal care until 3 months postpartum. Perinatal support services also offers prenatal classes to pregnant women and their partners in the Waianae community.

Helps women and men veterans work through sexual trauma experienced in the military. Offers both individual and group counseling for post-traumatic stress, substance abuse and crisis intervention.
