Lokahi Treatment Centers (LTC) provides a highly structured environment that is centered on personal responsibility, individual dignity, and self-esteem. At LTC, our goal is to provide our clients with a continuum of care to meet them right where they are and guide them through a world of new choices. LTC provides identical services at all five (5) of our offices in Hilo, Kona, Kohala, Honoka'a & Waikoloa. Services include: -Substance Abuse Treatment & Prevention Programs (Gender Specific & Mixed Groups) -Anger Management Programs for Adults, Adolescents & Children -Domestic Violence Intervention Classes -Mental Health Evaluations & Counseling -Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment Program -Psychiatric Evaluations -Family Therapy Sessions -Women's Trauma Group -Individual Counseling -Medication Management

Senior Programs assists seniors in connecting with senior clubs and also assists senior clubs with facilitation of their meetings, organization of special events, scheduling of guest speakers, and provision of health information. Senior Programs also produces a monthly publication to provide seniors valuable resources and information.

Helps immigrants overcome employment barriers by providing acculturation development, basic education, vocational training, job search skills and job placement assistance.

Private school includes grades K-12 for boys and girls.

(Ekolu) --Referrals through the Hawaii CARES line-- Ekolu is an around-the-clock crisis stabilization facility designed for individuals experiencing emotional, behavioral, or psychological crises. Our primary goal is to effectively resolve the crisis and help clients regain stability. We offer a secure and therapeutic environment for adults aged 18 years old or older, providing support for up to 14 days.

Provides basic dental care for low income persons who are frail elderly or disabled who are Medicaid qualified (but not Medicare qualified).

(Family Visitation Center - Oahu) Family Visitation Centers provide a safe, neutral setting for children to visit with their non-custodial parents or transition from one parent to the other. After a divorce or separation, family visitation services may be arranged by agreement of both parents and by court order.

The Office of Housing and Community Development is responsible for the planning, administration and operation of all of the County of Hawai‘i’s housing programs such as the Section 8 rental assistance for qualified families. Its overall goal is to provide for the development of viable communities in Hawaii County by providing decent housing, suitable living environments and expanding economic opportunities.

(Homeless Careavan Program) Provides outreach for homeless individuals. Currently uses van, Care-A-Van outreach specialist to travel to beaches/parks and other areas on Kauai where homeless people live or congregate. Unsheltered Homeless Protocol for Members of the Public. If you wish to assist a person who is homeless, who might be setting up "residence" in a public area or needing a health and safety intervention, the following actions should be taken: -Note the exact location and time when the person who is homeless is known to frequent the area. -Note any identifying information for the person who is homeless, e.g., physical description and number in the group. -Provide the above information to Kauai Economic Opportunity via email at [email protected] or call (808) 245.4077, x228. Email is the preferred means of communication. Also provide the name and email/phone number of the person providing the information for follow up if the person who is homeless cannot be found.

Welcomes and accepts volunteers (including high school students, college students, working adults and senior retirees). Volunteers assist Health System employees with acute care, long-term care and geriatric care. Duties range from clerical support to companionship activities within nursing home residents or patient assistance at the medical center. Volunteers also participate in hospital tours for visitors. Volunteers are accepted year round. Upon acceptance into the program, volunteers attend a general orientation given by the supervisor of their assigned department. Most volunteers work one to two times a week and a minimum of three hours a shift. Weekends are available.

At Aloha United Way (AUW) we believe in a future where our keiki are secure, families are financially stable, and communities thrive. We advocate for a healthier, more educated, and financially stable Hawaii. The 2024 AUW Advocacy and Public Policy Agenda can be organized in the following areas: Support for the economic stability of ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households, support for community members experiencing disaster or crisis with the Safety Net, and support for our local nonprofit organizations.

Meals provided Saint Elizabeth Church on Wednesday and Thursday. Clothing, some personal care items, and counseling may be available on Thursday.

Operates a thrift store selling low cost clothing, furniture, household goods, toys and more. Proceeds benefit vocational training and job placement programs for people with barriers to employment.

Provides comprehensive services to persons in acute mental health crisis or who are suffering from a serious mental illness. Provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment, counseling and psychotherapy, case management, crisis intervention, and psychosocial rehabilitation.

Operates an adult day program for individuals with intellectual disabilities, education and vocational training programs for low-to-moderate income people including those with disabilities/special needs, and other support services. Also operates programs for seniors and the disabled offering therapeutic and recreational activities. (Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wellness Center activities are temporarily closed.)

(SSO) Department of Education Seamless Summer Option (SSO) Program provides meals free of charge at participating public schools for children 1 year old - 18 years old June 9, 2026 - July 17, 2026. Children do not need to be enrolled in public school to participate. Schools will serve breakfast 7:15 am - 8:45 am and lunches from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. There will be no meal service on the June 11, 2026 (Kamehameha Day) and July 3, 2026 (Independence Day observed) state holidays. All meals must be eaten on campus; no grab-and-go options are available. Children do not have to be enrolled at a participating school to be served, and meals will consist of solid foods. Provides bicycling advocacy in such areas as commuting, education, mountain biking, recreation, sport, touring, tourism, trail maintenance, transportation, etc. Organizes weekend rides, bicycling events and races, bi-monthly newsletter, membership meetings, etc. Conducts Bike Ed Hawaii, an on-bike on-road bicycling education program for 4th grade children in Oahu's public school system. Also teaches a walk smart program at the First grade level and a Sixth Grade review course.

Provides outpatient medical care including diagnosis and treatment of illness/injury. Offers lab testing on site. X-ray services on site. Offers specialty care in cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, surgery, neurology and sleep disorders, orthopedics, optical shop, contact lens, diabetes education, ob-gyn, and urology.

Sand Island Treatment Center provides residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation, day treatment, out-patient (high intensity and low intensity) supportive living, dual diagnosis, and aftercare.
