(DCP) Raise Awareness and Educate Humanity about Dyslexia by providing Educational Workshops, Dyslexia & Dysgraphia Screenings, Informational support, Specialized Multi-Sensory Tutoring (in person and online) to empower children and adults in becoming independent, fluent learners in reading, writing, spelling, handwriting, and mathematics.

Provides support groups, Bridges Educational Course, Self Esteem Course, Peer Mentoring, Warm Line, Speeches to schools and groups on how to stay mentally healthy, consumer advocacy.

(ATV, YWCA of Kauai Alternatives to Violence) Provides psycho-education and support designed to interrupt the cycle of violence. Assists clients with anger management. Encourages, teaches and advocates non-violent behaviors. Available as a resource in the community for speakers and presentations.

Pacific Whale Foundation's mission is to protect our oceans through science and advocacy. Conducts scientific research of ocean, coral reefs and marine mammals. Applies research findings to preserve natural marine habitats and animals. Provides public education, encourages community participation through lectures, school visits, natural history cruises, snorkeling trips and whale watching cruises. Offers internships for interested researchers who apply. Manages Adopt-a-Whale and Adopt-a-Spinner Dolphin program allowing interested citizens to receive information on the movements and developments of a specific whale. Operates Pacific Whale Foundation's Eco-Adventure, a for-profit subsidiary.

(BHOF) Provides a variety of educational programs and services to patients, their families and health professionals, including: written information on the prevention, detection, and treatment of osteoporosis; a website that is regularly updated with the latest information on bone health and osteoporosis; a patient information service; professional educational materials; and assistance in establishing and maintaining support groups. Works to increase public awareness of osteoporosis through prevention programs and campaigns, public policy forums and grassroots efforts.

Distributes information on cancer's "seven warning signs" and emphasizes prevention through healthy lifestyles to reduce cancer risk. Through public-private partnerships, Malama Maui Nui stretches government dollars further by gaining the in-kind support of local businesses and volunteers to malama aina in Maui Nui. Projects include marine debris cleanups, coral reef outreach & education, invasive plant control, native outplanting, illegal dumpsite clearing, litter pickups, graffiti cleanup, recycling, community paint exchange, and environmental education. Ongoing volunteer opportunities are available in Kihei at our Laie Wetland Restoration Project, in Kahului at Kanaha Beach Park, and at various community.

(Opala, Plastic Bag Ban) Develops and administers City and County recycling programs. Provides island residents and businesses with information regarding current recycling programs and programs in development for the island of Oahu, including drop-off recycling centers, recycling for condos and businesses, backyard composting, workshops. (Family Peace Center - Oahu, FPC) Oahu Family Peace Center teaches non-violent problem-solving skills for families struggling with adult aggression and behavioral dysfunction. The program emphasizes partnership, equality, and respect among families. The center provides support for survivors/victims and child witnesses of domestic violence that includes individual and group counseling, case management, parental classes, community referrals, and legal system advocacy. Support for offenders includes violence intervention groups. Community education and training for schools, community groups, and agencies available. Groups area available after hours in the evening. HI-EMA coordinates with county civil defense agencies integrated plans for all hazards, disaster response and recovery. HI-EMA provides community education on hazard awareness, and disaster preparedness, and conducts professional training programs.
