The Office of Continuing Education & Workforce Development (OCEWD) is the non-credit division of Leeward Community College offering an extensive suite of services to the community. OCEWD provides a variety of community education programs, employment training courses and cultural enrichment. Our programs support human resources and economic development, training courses for job seekers, businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. (Health and Fitness Classes) We provide day camps, Girls in Sports, winter camp, open gym for basketball and volleyball, swim classes for youth and adults, cultural activities, recreational activities, host special events and family camping.

Hawaii Foodbank Kauai’s SNAP outreach program helps with completing SNAP applications.

CARF accredited programs provide outpatient medication assisted and drug free treatment: methadone maintenance, suboxone (buprenorphine) and detox program, outreach, and interim services for persons addicted to opiates, pain killers, and illicit opiates in on Oahu and Hilo on Hawaii Island. In Puna on Hawaii Island, Native Hawaiian culturally based intensive outpatient and outpatient program provided. Cornerstone, located in Honolulu, provides outpatient, intensive outpatient and continuing care services. Trauma-Informed-Care environment.

The program may provide one-time support for first month’s rent, past-due rent/mortgage and utility bills, and utility deposits for electric, water, and gas.

Akaku Maui Community Media manages the community access television station, offers production training, and provides production services to non-profit agencies. We will list non-profit events and announcements on the Video Bulletin Board. We cablecast programming 24 hours a day on Hawaiian Cablevision channels 44, 45, 12 on Maui, 52, 53, 12 on West Maui, 3, 13, 12 on Molokai/Lanai. We accept all non-commercial programming.
