(WUCC Food Pantry, WUCC) Central Union Church Windward Food Distribution Program provides non-perishable food and prepackaged bags of food (protein, fruit, starch, vegetables). The church is committed to providing this outreach to the community and everyone who has a need for food is welcome. Please bring your own bag for food pick up. Central Union Church Windward is a Hawaii Food Bank Agency authorized to receive FDA products, therefore our program is required to have our clients sign a form confirming the need and number of individuals in the household. Emphasis is placed on individual choice, allowing adults to pursue opportunities that match their interests and skills while promoting their dignity and independence. The program provides daily respite for individual and family caregivers as well as provides participants with educational, social, health and recreational opportunities. ADH participants have a full-range of activities to choose from including: the option to go on daily excursions, enjoy art programs, volunteer in the community, attend computer classes with the aid of assistive technology, learn money skills, participate in weekly hula classes or give back to the community through recycling programs. Community-based Pregnancy Services provides counseling and supportive services to women experiencing a crisis due to an unplanned pregnancy and their families, with special attention to pregnant teens. Service assists clients to explore all their viable options concerning their pregnancy and to make informed decisions and plans for themselves and their child. Pregnancy Services provides community outreach in order to reach the women and teens in need of services, and assists them in accessing services, advocacy, information and other resources to meet their needs (such as WIC, Medicaid, AFDC.) Birth options counseling is provided if requested as well as planning and assistance through the process for the individual, partner and family.

City and County of Honolulu Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) provides a Rebuild Donation Match Registry. Step 1: Submit a Request. Residents and business owners with storm damage can submit a description of their needs, including required repairs and specific materials or services. Step 2: Eligibility Review. DPP will verify requests based on official damage assessment reports to ensure resources reach those most affected. Step 3: Register as a Donor. Individuals and businesses can sign up to donate specific quantities of materials or offer volunteer time. Step 4: The Match. Once a match is identified, DPP will notify both parties to initiate the connection. Please note: -No Guarantee of Assistance. Submission of a request does not guarantee that materials or services will be provided. Assistance depends on available donations. -Permits are Required. Participation in the registry does not waive standard building permit requirements. Property owners must ensure all necessary permits are obtained before work begins. -Licensed Work required. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. This CDC-recognized program is a year-long structured lifestyle change program that includes dietary coaching and moderate physical activity, all with the goal of preventing or delaying the onset of type 2 diabetes among those who are at high risk for diabetes. The program consists of 16 core sessions over the course of the first six months, followed by less-intensive classes held monthly for the rest of the year-long program. The goal of the program is to cut one's risk of developing diabetes in half by losing 5-7% of their body weight through healthier eating and engaging in 150 minutes of physical activity each week. This program also includes shopping tours, cooking classes, exercise, on-site gardening, and stress management sessions.
