Provides island wide public transportation, including transportation for disabled individuals. The County of Hawai'i Mass Transit Agency also provides a Shared Ride Taxi Program in Hilo. The Hele-On bus system generally operates Monday through Saturday from 3:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., with limited service on Sundays and County observed holidays. When using the Hele-On Bus System, MTA suggests you wait at official bus stops and arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time. Disaster Relief Assistance

Community Assistance Center - Utility

Assists with past due metered utilities (water, electricity, gas) for older adults pending fund availability. Utilities payable to vendor only with W9 form and supporting documents to verify residence and eligibility. The utility assistance is for renters and homeowners.
