K9 Kokua is an all volunteer agency. Volunteers are accepted for everything from writing thank you cards to direct outreach services.

(Transitional Family Homes) Provides a temporary out-of-home placement living environment for youths, ages 12 years old to 22 years old, that require additional resources to accommodate their emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues. Together, the staff and foster families provide youths with a system of support, counseling and skill building services. This service offers youth the opportunity to live with a trained transitional family who provides them with support and guidance. Services are offered to each youth based on their individual needs. Youths are provided with individual counseling and family counseling with the ultimate goal of reunification with their family.

The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. The Hana Like Home Visitor Program works with families to provide supportive coaching to teach strategies that enhance the parent or caregiver’s skills to provide a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for children ages birth to 3 years old. Home visitors also work with prenatal mothers to support a wide range of maternal-child health. Families are referred by the Early Identification (EID) unit of Catholic Charities Hawaii and can be self-referred. (Meal Delivery - Hawaii Meals on Wheels) Medical meal (diabetic, renal, chopped, pureed, etc.) delivery service to homebound kupuna. Meals are frozen or hot, as needed. Frozen meals delivered once a week to your home and is a week's worth of meals. Hot meals are daily during weekdays, including all holidays. Both hot and frozen programs offer medical meals. Helps frail elderly and disabled individuals preserve their independence at home by providing nutritious meals and regular personal contact. Clients will have to have limited mobility; not be able to meet certain criteria of daily living i.e. difficulty dressing themselves, unable to cook or shop on their own. Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii (VLSH) is the only organization in the state whose sole mission is to serve people in Hawaii with low to moderate income community through volunteer attorneys. Volunteer Legal’s pool of pro bono attorneys provide legal services in a wide range of civil matters, including divorces, paternities, custodies, child support, guardianships, adoptions, powers of attorney, wills, healthcare directives, landlord-tenant cases, collections, and Chapter 7 bankruptcies. (Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Services are provided to child and adult victims, non-offending partners, alleged juvenile and adult offenders, and siblings. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. Provides group counseling, individual counseling, mother-daughter counseling, and family counseling services for victims of incest, their siblings, non-offending parents, and offenders.

Our Cancer Rehabilitation Program (CRP) is a comprehensive program that provides outpatient rehabilitation to cancer patients and survivors. Whether newly diagnosed or finished with treatment, we can help decrease pain and enable individuals to safely and effectively regain independence. Our goal is to help patients love their life as they did before cancer. For those who want to increase their independence and fulfill rehab goals, the CRP may be the right path. Patients work with a team of cancer rehabilitation specialists, including physical therapists and exercise physiologists, to create a program tailored specifically towards improving quality of life.
