Hawaii Meals on Wheels – Home Delivered Meals

Persons who are 60 years old or older may be eligible. Must be homebound and unable to cook or shop for themselves. In addition, they must meet one or more of the following criteria: -Unable to prepare meals due to physical or mental disability and have no assistance with meal preparation. -Lack the physical mobility necessary to shop for food or prepare adequate meals and have no assistance with meal preparation. -Are convalescing following hospital discharge and require meal service temporarily. -Lack adequate cooking facilities and are unable to acquire them. -Lack proper nutritional support due to caregiver stress.

Oahu
(Meal Delivery - Hawaii Meals on Wheels) Medical meal (diabetic, renal, chopped, pureed, etc.) delivery service to homebound kupuna. Meals are frozen or hot, as needed. Frozen meals delivered once a week to your home and is a week's worth of meals. Hot meals are daily during weekdays, including all holidays. Both hot and frozen programs offer medical meals. Helps frail elderly and disabled individuals preserve their independence at home by providing nutritious meals and regular personal contact. Clients will have to have limited mobility; not be able to meet certain criteria of daily living i.e. difficulty dressing themselves, unable to cook or shop on their own. For private pay and sponsored services, A Hawaii Meals on Wheels staff will check in with their physician on their health status.

Hawaii Meals on Wheels is dedicated to helping Oahu's elders and individuals with disabilities preserve their independence at home. We do this primarily by providing nutritious meals and regular personal interaction with those we serve.
