(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. Kahuku was the site of the first Rainbow School and has been operating continuously since 1972. We serve approximately 65 children ranging in age from 2 years to 5 years old. Our program is licensed by the State of Hawaii and all staff meet state licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist. The program uses vans with wheelchair lifts, ramps and sedans.

Provides specialty care, non-emergency medical care, including physician services, laboratory and x-ray, occupational health services such as contracted pre-employment physical examinations, drug tests, worker's compensation care and immunizations for adults. Also provides flu vaccines when available. Doctors on Call Clinic is not an Emergency Department or urgent care.

Ka Lai Ola is a temporary housing development that is located in West Lahaina within walking distance of Lahaina Civic Center. It will house 1,500 wildfire survivors until 2029. Ka Lai Ola will contain approximately 450 modular residential units, including a combination of studio, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom homes for independent living with full kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.

(MEO) Provides accessible transportation service for the youth, elderly, disabled, and general public of Maui County. Services include non-emergency medical transport, demand response, and specialized service to also include 'fee-for-service" operations.

(DHS Return to Homeland Program) Assists eligible Hawaii resident aliens and naturalized citizens in returning to their homelands outside of the United States. (Healthy Families America Lana'i) Home Visiting program for families who are prenatal or have a newborn in Maui County. We provide a variety of support including resource information, parenting information, child development information and community connection. Virtual services are available.

Offers job orientation and information, counseling. Arranges placement, follow-up and support group meetings. Provides job coaching and follow-up services.

(MST, Multisystemic) This program is a unique, goal-oriented model that provides comprehensive treatment that serves chronic, violent delinquents ages 12 years old to 18 years old. It is a family focused, in-home and community-based treatment program that has been the focus of several major research studies, and demonstrated clinical and cost effectiveness for youth with complex emotional, social and academic needs Multisystemic (MST) is a time-limited, intensive family and community based treatment that addresses serious anti-social behavior in juvenile offenders ages 12 years old - 18 years old. Program addresses the factors associated with delinquency across the youth’s settings (e.g. family, peers, school, neighborhood) and uses the strengths of each system to foster positive change. At least one adult/parental figure must be willing to assume long-term parenting role and participate with service providers for the duration of treatment.

Provides an array of family skill building, child abuse and neglect prevention services within the Kalihi. Both Centers offer information and referral. Both Family Centers focus on parents, school and community involvement to work together to improve academic achievement for children.
